That's not correct as it is.

SuperChargers is most likely cheaper if you want to get everything.
Otherwise the price for new characters, Racing Action Packs and vehicles isn't that different from Trap Team, it's actually pricier.

Hight Volt's backstory:
High Volt was once a commander of a special security force that was in charge of patrolling the border of Skylands and the mysterious uncharted region known as the Outlands. From atop the Shockspire tower, their security headquarters, High Volt vigilantly monitored any strange activity beyond the border, knowing that Kaos and his minions were up to no good. Over the years, he had defended Skylands from countless Greeble attacks, Troll uprisings, and even a few evil food chains that were attempting to expand. But on a recent patrol mission into the Outlands, High Volt discovered a heavily guarded construction site, where Kaos' minions appeared to be building a colossal Doom Station of Ultimate Destruction! Realizing at once that all of skylines was in danger, he raced to the Skylanders Academy to inform Master Eon and joined the Skylanders in their fight to stop it!

Ok now that adds up a LOT of plot. High Volt alone did more than half the cast already. And wow, we actually have a bit of geography confirmed now that the Outlands are actually part of the story again: Underworld for the far depths, Skyhighlands for the far top, Skylands for the regular center, Outlands for the ends of it.

ye strangely enough, he doesn't show up in the comic at all and by the end, the Skylanders heard him boasting about it. So I have to assume that the Skylanders must already know about it, and therefore isn't much of a warning.

Anyway regarding High Volt's backstory:
I think he might actually be the first Skylander ever to self recruit himself.
Somehow I picture him running towards the Academy inside his heavy armor, reaching Eon and saying: "*uffff*... No time to... *pant*... Explain... Get the Skylanders together... *anf*... NOW!"

I also remember the prequel comic should take place in a "mysterious and uncharted" region...
Maybe they were talking about the Outlands and High Volt will actually play an important role in the issue by warning everyone about the imminent danger effectively becoming the first true SuperCharger.

I didn't thought High Volt's backstory would have been that much interesting...
It may very easily be the "connection" between Trap Team and SuperChargers' events!
If only all the backstories could add even half of this to the exsisting lore...

At least this is even more, canon, proof that David A. Rodriguez got the lore. In SF it really felt unfamiliar and just adding new things; but now even new things just tie into something without feeling shoehorned. As I said before, it really only takes him being given something he can work properly with for this game's story to go places.

He looks a bit too short for a bulky character; that might end up with some weird animations. I guess they were trying to set him apart from Slam Bam but they might've gone overboard.

No tweets from David or Ron Marz about the comic. So close to delicious plot and continuity yet so far.

SF's Knock Mechanics (dammit people stop calling them knock back physics) are back. I've seen gameplay of Bowser that definitely had them (from one of the hammer moves I think) and I swear I've seen Spitfire cause flinch. Can't remember what attacks did it, though- it's so hard to find good on-foot gameplay that I haven't bothered analysing KMs.

Plus, same graphics as SF- it's safe to assume they just reused the engine and thus all the physics from that and the damage numbers and such.

I heard they removed flinch on initial hit, which would kinda irk me since some characters loved that, but we'll see how it ends up. All the on-foot gameplay seems to be from old builds anyway, so KMs might not have been completely polished.

It's just part of KMs. Makes the enemy flail around for about a second.

Example: Wind-Up's secondary attack when not fully wound.

I should really make a chart or something of what I mean when I say flinch, minor knockback, huge knockup, etc. XD I'm kinda inconsistent with it already.

When you hit an enemy for the first time since their last attack animation the will get stunned and undergo a secondary animation. Very useful to SF's strategy
If they removed it in this game I think I'll cry

As long as smilie can go back to scooping the majority of enemies like he did in Swap Force, then I can forgive the games' mechanics. I do feel sorry for smilie though as he may never be as good as he was in Swap Force.

Actually I don't think they used SWAP Force's graphics.
They are actually much better and look like a seemingly perfect cross between SWAP Force's and Trap Team's.

The style is still V.V.'s (even if they managed to improve it too) but at least we don't have the same claymation feel as before, there are multiple types of metal and different textures are used for different materials.

Definitely an improvement from their last game.

I hate claymation looks. I think that's why I didnt like SWAP Force too much, one of the reasons anyway. The SueprChargers Trailer both the first one ad the second one, I love how the characters are in the real world! Can't wait for games to be like that! smilie Maybe even use the Oculus rift to play Skylanders sounds awesome.

I can barely notice a difference between SF and SC's graphics. If anything, SC's seems to have less colourful lighting but more polished models, though it definitely doesn't look like the result of a game engine change. Either way, I'm not picky about graphics.

I just hope KMs are still important. That they removed flinch makes me a bit worried they wanted to make it less important. That would be a huge mistake to me, because KMs are my favourite part of SF and after analysing them, encouraged me to critique games (which gave me another appreciation for the medium). They've got a special place in my heart, because of how they influenced me and how much time I've spent and still spend messing around with them.

IDK how it'll affect Dune Bug since I don't use him tbh (he's one of those characters I really wish was better).

I just think they're not fully polished and implimented in the builds they've shown at this point.

Either way, I'm just glad they're still back in some form (like I said, I've DEFINITELY seen it with Bowser) and besides that, this still looks a lot better than the TFB games to me.

With the new Splat and Pop Fizz screenshots(news thread,but PLEASE KEEP DISCUSSION ABOUT THEM HERE), Bone Chompies are confirmed to be back! With new awesome-looking helmets and goggles.

You can also see a sideways chest with a skull and a dynamite symbol - you could say it's a treasure chest but it looks nothing like the ones we've seen.

Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this game. To me it's the most promising out of all the entries, and its done enough to actually get me hyped for it. In the aftermath of me playing Trap Team, I thought that if Skylanders 5 didn't look promising enough, I would just ditch it. Thankfully that's not the case, since I'm definitely going to be buying the Wii U starter pack(plus a loose Spitfire + Hot Streak if possible), though I'll most likely wait for a while since the games tend to go on sale for decent discounts not long after the game is released from what I've seen.

Definately looking foward to this as well. I can talk bad about VV all day,but I genuinely want them to learn from SF's mistakes and do a great game most people can enjoy. This series has so much potential and with the level spoilers they really seem to be attempting something big with the lore; bad decisions or not I'd rather see the series improve more and more no matter the devs.

Considering how I've been going on about KMs here I think my feelings about this game are pretty obvious >w> There's a couple things I'm worried about but overall I'm still pretty excited for this game, especially since this year has nothing else I'm really excited about outside of Xeno and after the disappointment that was TT (I like it, but it was a step back for the series). I'm also replaying SF and I appreciate it more now, even the story (although I've pretty much learned to expect the story will never quite be what I want, especially with the comics which I don't like becoming canon and tying in with everything more, so I'm really not going to nitpick it like I used to even though I do appreciate the extra effort this time).

We just need Rift into Overdrive (which is out,but physical only) now to have an idea of the mood before release - the previews seem to be going for foreboding but still lighthearted,but that's before the disaster.

From what I can tell David is an experienced writer, but when he wrote for SF, he thought it had to be childish all the time. Clearly (Maybe by Acti, VV or Tfsmilie he was told "Oh you can make it darker and more serious. That's what we want, so it can appeal to everyone." And as a result, decided to make it that way. SSC is very promising and with David writing the comics and them being written surprisingly well (Like, pretty damn great) I'm sure it'll be awesome!

Deer god (sorryihadto), Splat's figure looks beautiful. Both vehicle figures look great too, shame though that their Supercharged versions are kinda meh (I like the paint idea with Splat's, but the vent thingy sticking in front of the driver's face looks dumb and Soda Skimmer is pretty good except for the fur that creeps me out).

This series has so much potential and with the level spoilers they really seem to be attempting something big with the lore; bad decisions or not I'd rather see the series improve more and more no matter the devs.


Likewise, I want TfB to learn from THEIR mistakes--more like a lack of progress. I agree the franchise has a ton of potential and they look too afraid to re-invent themselves...but it's time.
