But since the average customer is probably not an hardcore collector I guess it's safe to say Trap Team is generally consumer friendlier
When I think "consumer friendlier" I think "cheapest to let you access all the blocked off content in the main levels". I mean that's what the average consumer will care about when they think about getting to completely experience the main game (I mean, what kid likes to be told "you can't access this area"?). And Trap Team was the worst in that regard.
You are absolutely right from that point of view but then I think:
- assuming I only own a Wii U I would have to buy at least another Starter Pack to also play as Bowser which would otherwise not be obtainable and we still don't know when Spitfire and Hot Streak will be released as singles (probably later waves) so my only change to get them would either be a useless PlayStation or XBOX Starter Pack or a Dark Edition (which I will still need since it's the only way to obtain a Kaos Trophy and no eBay is not an option for everyone).
Not to mention Dark Sea Shadow isn't even packed with her own pilot...;
- I cannot buy one of this year's "Adventure Packs" since I don't want a character I already own.
Those kinda of Packs were always packed with new Skylanders but they probably fear Deep Dive Gill Grunt wouldn't sell alone so better stick him inside a Racing Action Pack;
- playable villains and their vehicles are a great addiction but why exactly can't I unlock them using the traps I previously bought?
I mean... What if I simply wanted my to play as Golden Queen and couldn't care less about new tracks...?
Nope I buy the Trophy or nothing.
Those aren't really friendly choices either, right?
