People say that is a food has seeds then it's a fruit, but what about Bell Peppers, Chilli or Pumpkin? They have seeds yet their not fruit? What do you guys think?

Fruits are the parts of a flowering plant that house the seeds.

And peppers and pumpkins are fruit.

That includes Tomatoes, Peppers, Beans, Peapods, Avocado, Squash, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Olives and Corn Kernels.

There is a difference between a salad and a Fruit salad. Chicken is a meat and you can put meat in a salad. I sometimes put Ice Cream, jelly or nuts in my fruit salad but there not fruit.

Look, what category dose Cake, jelly, yogurt and the other stuff I've mentioned go into? Stop being a special kind of dumb and please think logically. Usually people have cake with fruit salad, that doesn't mean that the cake is part of the fruit salad. It's like meat and potatoes. Totally different things. Now put that scene with things like chilli and pumpkin. Nobody has a fruit salad with that stuff.

A fruit is the seed-bearing part of the plant, so pumpkins and bell peppers are, in fact, fruit.

Arggh, fine i'll accept the fact that pumpkins and peppers are fruit but I still have my doubts on the matter.

Okay, I've decided that you have to be doing this on purpose as a joke, because no one can actually have this huge lack of understanding of what is going on.

The reason you don't put pumpkins, chili, or tomatoes in a fruit salad is because of their flavor. It has nothing to do with their biological classification.


Also, it should be noted that a vegetable is any edible plant. Meaning fruits are in fact vegetables. So the whole "fruits and vegetables" terminology is redundant. But people like to separate the two colloquially based on flavor.
