Might be too late to those who are planning to travel there,but signal boost since I noticed a lot of youtubers and other users don't always look at the news thread - Nintendo announced the game will be playable at PAX Prime.

In case they allow old figures to be used,just a reminder - FGTV got footage of a Giant(Crusher) and a Mini(Terrabite), but they didn't get footage of quadruped Skylanders or the stranger cases like Wrecking Ball. So if you guys are planning to take along a toy friend, those would be nice choices if you'll record it.

Isn't quite a lot of PAX Prime streamed on Twitch? If so, we don't necessarily need to worry about anybody going in order to be able to see it--we'll just have to hope that the people who do show up have old Skylanders in-hand to show us the combos we want to see.

Well yeah,but some youtubers and people living nearby might not remember it at first, this is really just signal boost. And depending on who's taken, could be some funny moments if we have someone driving without using their hands(for those who have too tiny hands or no fingers) at some point.

Looks squarely "fine". Design seems kinda neat but mechanics seem kinda clunky.

1.People have already straight up said they don't read the news topic. In some cases I can't blame them,but then that means some things have to go separate.
2.Signal boost. People might only catch up during the weekend because of work sometimes. And,if a youtuber or other DS user is going there, I put this warning two days ago so if they were going to record something they'd remember what we already know.
3.Possibly to separate some discussion from clogging up the news thread if needed,but I doubt that'll be the case.

I agree completely. why play as someone old compared to new ones. I would totally use Spitfire if I was there.

They only showed Bowser because Derrick and Not-Derrick(GameXplain doesn't actually say their names and I only heard the first in a stream with another group), the latter being the one playing the game,don't really care for the series - they're in only for Bowser and DK. You notice they have zero will to play as the other characters or even vehicles in footage from other events. We'll have to get other characters from other youtubers if at all.

I wasn't talking about just him. More people who are casuals will know about Bowser and DK more than Spitfire or Stealth Elf. If you think about it more people will play as a Nintendo Character more than a Skylander because Nintendo's cast is more iconic.

Well VV are the ones that thought this was a good idea, though TFB's the one that'll find a suprise when the marketing team finds out those people who're buying the game for the Amiibolanders aren't here to stay. As much as I like their videos(except when they start thinking they can analyze a franchise they don't actually know), if there aren't more next game, you can bet GameXplain will forget it existed by then and not get footage like this year.

I agree, you can't analyze or even review a game if the only reason you play it are two characters that aren't even originally from the game. There are so many loveable characters that are really worth playing with. I hope that some soulgems will change those peoples minds and that they care for more than 5% of the game.

Agreed. I hope we do see more gameplay for more characters later on. I feel like maybe at least Skylander might get some to try the game and enter the fanbase. I got into Skylanders thanks to Drobot. What's not to say someone there might try the game of curiosity.

I sincerely hope that won't hit TfB as a surprise.
I hope that will hit Activision and make them understand the consequences of their actions.

I'm no one to judge but I seriously don't know what to think if you weren't even going to consider a game and then changed your mind about it simply because of two playable characters (not even for them but for what they are in general since they are guest stars).

I even heard someone saying: "This game will be better because Donkey Kong and Bowser are in it".
Sure let's forgot about all the changes made from SA until now... Mario characters are here so it's automatically better!

I always felt mixed on the 3rd party characters but that is the stupidest reasoning ever. I don't think Mario Maker looks good but hey Fox and Falco are playable so it actually looks like a good game. Just because Fox and Falco are there doesn't mean I'll get it. Same here. Also I feel I should end this rant before something happens. I want to focus on how this game looks and how I'm gonna feel on launch when I get it.

Well, the entire reason this fandom is a bit of an underdog is because everyone dismissed the game over Spyro and Cynder's redesigns. Unfortunately we got that in our blood.

I really hate the fact that skylanders earns popularity through the Skymiibos. If there aren't going to be any Skymiibos in the next game, then the nintendo fans will start hating as well. Though, the Skymiibos already caught the attention of nintendo fans and guess what, they hate skylanders It's really sad how they don't give this game a chance, after all, in some aspects it's better than most Mario games (that's probably the reason why they hate it in the first place)

Me to. Like with my Fox and Falco in MM example earlier I feel like the game should be treated how it plays not because of gust stars. I like the fact this game uses Guest Stars to advertise Skylanders to Nintendo fans getting them into the series but I don't like it when that's the only reason for likeing it.

Just a heads up I thought about; if GamerXplain decide to get SuperChargers you might want to avoid their channel around launch day because they upload the final levels of games quickly.

And Coinoptv, skydad, and a few others do the same thing. Thumbnails are spoilerific as well.

GameXplain usually knows better and puts very vague thumbnails however(like,the final boss of Splatoon just has the signature Octarian tentacle). But really,avoid Youtube altogether on day one, some people have no respect for people who randomly find it on the related videos even if they weren't looking for spoilers. If I really need to I always leave some useful thing like Skype open exactly over the related list.

Hear the voices, Not-Derrick is the one that stumbled around then just gave up and asked "ok but where's Bowser". The person next to him seemed to be pretty excited to actually show other elemets first, actually, even if the only scanned Air vehicle seemed to be the Clown Cruiser after all.

I agree. The only thing I hear when watching fotage of SSC 3DS is "Mario Kart dose this better" witch makes me mad. Dose MK HAVE to be dragged into EVERY conversation about a new racing game? MK isn't even that good of a racing franchise in my opinion. I like it but even I can notice large diffrences between MK and other racing games. MK is more luck based (I hate luck in video games), SASRT is more Skill based and SSC is more stretigic based.

I have to disagree with you guys on Mario Kart being horrid because of the luck. One of the few games the luck is nice. Do you know how boring it is just to cruise along in first place across a whole course with no one even near you? It's nice to get hit by items so that those characters actually have a chance. Though I guess the items are a bit annoying online every so often.

Just on a side note, the realistic racing games are ultra dull for me. SSC looks good though. MK has been my favorite and Crash Tag Team Racing is really good too.

SC's racing looks good aside from one thing: the physics look too bouncy/loose.

Not totally sure how to explain it, but it's the same reason I prefer Mario Kart 7 to 8- I just think the physics are better and more satisfying in the former. Don't like when my vehicle gets bumped around alot, which sadly, SC seems to lean towards somewhat.

There is a Weight stat for vehicles,Arc, they probably look bouncy since everyone is using the default set.

I hope so, but I doubt weight will make much of a difference. It usually doesn't in MK (8 is probably the exception, but outside of 200cc that game is pretty unbalanced anyway, which just makes the lightweights look even worse). Might just be because the people showing gameplay aren't familiar with this game, just because I haven't actually played it myself or like you said, the sets being used, but overall it just doesn't seem as tight as MK Wii/7/8. The health/attacks and items being balanced around them make it look unique, though.
