@Sonicbrawler Still, the debating is not necessary amiibo related, it's a debate over ownership of a photo which is off-topic and should be debated on other sections of the forum such as their guestbook or a private message.

And the photo was of an Amiibo. That's enough of a correlation. Also the poster of the photo was trying to discuss their Amiibo buying habits in relation to said photo, but it seems that was a fib too.

People only started chiming in with "take it to guestbook" when it was wrapped up anyway (which seems to be an irritating trend around here...and on Smashboards). I was just briefly pointing out the obvious contradictions pointing towards a case of obvious art theft. I have no need to take it to guestbook when it only took me one or two posts to say what needed to be said.

And the same applies to this current line of discussion.

for the love of god, they just pulled a FAN MADE image of a shovel knight amiibo and slapped it on the site. god.

For the unaware, the site is simply using a mock-up box made by a fan, which in turn uses Artsy Omni's Smashified render.

I was at an EB Games and on the Amiibo racks I saw Marth and plenty of Captain Falcon. This is probably the only time I noticed these.

I don't collect amiibo considering the bad stock and that I don't have any Amiibo games ever, but is this normal, or was I lucky to see this? I didn't buy one of them.

shovel knight amiibo confirmed fake

At first I was thinking Shovel Knight would be more Smash DLC or a new Smash update. Then I thought "How in God's Name will Shovel Knight star in Smash ever?"

Lands in EU stores on November 27th.

Not quite sure but I'm seeing that the US release date is November 15th. It'll be $39.99.

I know I'm being absolutely stupid and ridiculous here in this post, but its still yet to be officially be confirmed by Nintendo/Yacht Club Games. Whilst I believe its definitely real, the tweet doesn't legit confirm the amiibo, it just makes it extremely likely the amiibo will be confirmed later on(presumably at the Nindies event).

On a more positive note, I'm really digging the quality of that figure, and this amiibo in particular looks like a real gem for collectors. If only the amiibos in general were dirt cheap, I'd like to buy more for my collection.

Just to clarify, this Amiibo has nothing to do with Smash. In fact, it debunks the rumours of him coming to Smash, as the rumours said the Amiibo was to tie in with his appearance in Smash and thus, a Smash branded Amiibo. This Amiibo however, is Shovel Knight branded. I'm not saying Shovel Knight in Smash can't still happen, but it's basically back to square one for him on the rumour mill.

I kinda called this on Smashboards. YCG had announced a while ago that Shovel Knight had Nintendo exclusive content in store, and that it would be "something people will not expect". Since most people expected a Zelda themed DLC or something, they seemed to have been right in regards to most people. I was holding off on the game to see which version would have the best exclusive content, and I think I will get the Wii U version now, possibly physical, and then get the Amiibo.

I was expecting the "MEGATON announcement" to be a Meta Knight boss. (Meta Knight, Megaton Punch, it made sense), but this is cool too. Never played Shovel Knight, so I hold no fondness for him, but the figure's nice regardless.

I'll get to adding these new guys to the OP soon, I'm pretty busy at the moment.

That's their prototype, and yes it is the Smash base. The base for the final design is different, however.

It isn't the Smash base in that YouTube video, it's a gold base with the Shovel Knight logo. Final one will have a purple base instead, though.
