I'm really curious to see what an 8-bit Greninja will look like.

Wait, you can actually play as different characters depending on the Amiibo? Because when I first heard of "Super Mario Maker" I pretty much thought "So what? There's tons of those online." But hearing that actually sort of makes a difference.

Well once I get the game I'll probably try all the amiibo I have, starting with Yoshi or Rosalina if I have her by then. Or Olimar cause I will have him by then.

Sonic and Kirby since those are the only ones I have.

Yeah! You place the amiibo on the gamepad, and it unlocks a costume cube for that character! When Mario hits it in the level, you get to reskin Mario as that character! We don't know all the ones that work quite yet, but its very likely that most all the Smash ones, all the Splatoon ones, and all the Animal Crossing ones will work.

I just realized how ironic it is that the character with the worst recovery in Smash 4 is now in a platforming game.

I only have Link and don't really have much desire to get others, so Link.

I'm not getting the game so...

Kirby and Ness, of course.

If I were to ever get the game.... Probably G&W, Shulk, Rosalina, & ROB.

Well you must not have seen the amiibo support in Yoshi's Woolly World and in Mario Kart 8, then.

I also can't wait to see how Dr. Mario looks in this game. Normal 8-Bit Mario in a lab coat will look pretty cool.

Honestly, the Amiibos are starting to make me want a WiiU.

I kind of want that Cyrus Amiibo. He's my favorite character in AC:NL and I think it might be fun playing as my favorite "Pompadorable" alpaca.

Hmmm, Sonic's 16-Bit sprite in 8-bit Mario world looks kind of weird. Does he look different depending on the style of the world you're making? Like if you make a New Super Mario World style level, does he use a 3D model?

The costumes only work in NES Super Mario Bros mode.

Really? That's odd. Why not the other modes? Any screenshots of him turning into anyone else? I'm actually kind of interested to see what 8-bit/16-bit sprites of a lot of these characters might look like.

That's incredibly disappointing. Could've at least recycled Smash models for NSM mode.
