INCREDIBLES 2 IS IN PRODUCTION.

I'm excited. Definitely seeing this in theaters.

yet no release, yet TOY STORY 4 has one.

Finally!! I hope it has to deal with the Underminer, like in the game.

Glad to hear it finally got off the ground. I know they announced it a while ago (with Cars 3) but they seemed to be taking a while.

Okay, every time I talk to people about this, they always say they want to see Underminer, and have it continue right where The Incredibles left off. In all honesty, that's very unlikely. First off, that's what the video game was based off of. I understand "blah blah blah, tie in games aren't canon", but we've already seen how that story plays out. Pixar's smart enough that if they wanted a sequel in the future to follow that story, they wouldn't have told it in some form of media already.

Second, Pixar loves to make their stories emotional. What emotion is there in a generic fight against a villain we've already seen part of? Pixar loves setup, they love making stories that can hit home. Save for Cars 2, all of their movies have had some really relateable plot point. How do you relate to the Incredibles in the first film? Bringing together a family to become something stronger. The Underminer doesn't have anything on the Incredibles + Frozone (who's clearly best character btw). He wouldn't be much of a challenge to them at all. All of Pixar's "villains" attack the protagonists physically and emotionally. Unless there's a major character death (which is very unlikely to happen), the Underminer isn't much of a threat at all.

They have to craft a sequel, not just barf it out. We've waited 13 years, and I have enough faith in Pixar for them to know that this film shouldn't be a milked plot for easy cash, but a love letter to the fans who've wanted it for so long.

I don't want the Underminer

I imagine the sequel taking place with the kids all grown up (and perhaps ready to start families of their own?) and the parents older, and, while still having their abilities, slowly debilitating.

I can see it being a sort of passing of the torch film.

That's definitely her on the left. I wonder how that place is connected to the dentist from the first film. I'm actually pretty excited about Finding Dory now.

i cant ait i was just 5 when the first one came out. im just hoping there is a time skip where they are all older like in real life.

I don't want The Underminer to be the main villain, but I'd like to see him make an appearance of some sort. I'd be happy with a cameo, but he shouldn't be a main focus.

Did I ever tell you guys I liked Cars 2 because of the idea of an accidental spy, as well as the fact they put a children's film + espionage and or even elements of Mission Impossible? Give it some credit.

If you wanted a plot possibility, look at Toy Story. Toy Story 2 and 3 were almost a decade apart. In 3, Andy is a young boy who grows up and qualifies for college. The amount of time it took to pass in real time is the same amount of time that passed in the Film.

Monsters Inc is the same, despite having a prequel sequel. By the time University came out, the kids who watched Inc were already University students.
