Quote: MesuxelfWhat's everyone's thoughts on Ike? I think people don't give Ike a chance. His back air is really fast and powerful, and custom Ike is really scary if you know what you're doing.
I prefer Bowser way more. His attacks are faster and he has more power and weight. Ike's attacks feel too slow.
I kind of weep whenever I see Bowser referred to as a bottom tier character. Why? Because he doesn't have any good range moves? I found ways to work around it. What? Because he's big and comboed easily? Size is not as big a problem as it's made out to be. I've played as big characters and small characters alike, and I notice the small guys like Pikachu and Olimar can be comboed just as easily. What? Because he doesn't have combos himself? The amount of power he has with his attacks, he barely needs combos. His forward smash is devastating when used right, and in the right circumstances can kill some characters at around 45%. While it has slightly slow start up, it's not as bad as Ike or Dedede, and it's still fast enough it can be used. I think it's mostly just the "speed fanboys" who rate him low because he's "slow" even though he's not even that slow, at least not at running. If you want slow, Mii Gunner is probably the worst if the Mii's big enough.
Also, besides Olimar, I rarely see supposedly "top tier" characters in the game like Sonic or Pikachu. Honestly, when you get past speed and realize a character has crap for KO options, you find that they're really not as good as tiers make them out to be. I mean, Pikachu can be a trick meteor smasher if used right (Which is REALLY hard to do mind you), but Sonic really has nothing. Shiek isn't much better than Sonic.
