I never collected Amiibo, seeing how I don't have any of the games for them, but if I ever see one of those Super Mario Maker Amiibo, and if I have a decent amount of money, I'll probably buy it. I wouldn't have Super Mario Maker at the time but I want this game and will get it later. Otherwise, it would be a fancy figure to display somewhere.

I don't know if this is old news or not, but I found a tweet from Nintendo of Europe (I think) that said the Mewtwo amiibo will release on 23 October in Europe and on 24 October in Australia and New Zealand.

Well, I just thought it might be new because the OP said "unconfirmed wave" for Mewtwo.

The OP is a bit outdated, yeah. Falco's still listed along the September releases when he's not coming for another couple of months, the Super Mario Maker amiibo will be released in two waves, not one, etc.

I guess the OP is based on US release dates, so Mewtwo doesn't have a confirmed release date to put in there yet. Would be nice to have an overview of all the European waves and release dates, too, though. And it would be useful to put a link to MoldyClay's compatibility chart in there, too.

Don't worry - that's just a fourth of the Animal Crossing cards we'll eventually end up with. With 400 confirmed cards - 4 series with 100 cards each - every single character from New Leaf (and even a few more like the new character Lottie) will get an amiibo card.

They'd probably release him at the last minute like they did with Wave 4 and 5a.

Other countries get tons of amiibo, non of which are ever exclusives, and constant restocks. In America, we get very low stock of almost all amiibo, constant exclusives, and pretty much non-existent restocks.
Importing is all we have to get rare amiibos without having to camp for days or pay **** loads of money to a scalper.

Semi-agree with Taco. Lately most countries are getting plentiful restocks while in the US, Nintendo World Store is pretty much the only place getting any restocks. Not real helpful unless you live near NYC or are buds with someone who does. Seeing as the US also has store exclusives, if you aren't lucky enough to snag one when it goes up, importing is really your only option.

Still, it's best to watch who you import from as there are still some that aren't doing so well in stock levels. I've imported 4 from Japan (Ike, Robin, Lucina, & Greninja), will do so for a 5th (Japanese ROB), and have no regrets. If need be, I'll do so for Marth, Lucario, Mewtwo, & Roy as well.

Also, you shouldn't be one to talk brawler. I know for a fact you imported one of your Rosalinas and that you own a Gold Mario.

No, other countries don't get tons of Amiibo. America gets over 60% of Amiibo stock, while Europe only gets around 20% between EVERY country.

Germany gets lots of Amiibos, but Germany isn't the entirety of Europe. Shocking, right? The only reason they get a lot is because Nintendo of Europe is situated in Germany. People keep looking at this one picture from a German store at Wave 3 launch, and assuming all of Europe is like that all of the time. Sorry to break the fantasy, but that isn't the case.

Also many European countries don't even get Amiibo waves in stores, if at all. Pac-Man, for example, still has not shown up here in Ireland. He was supposed to release in April.

You guys complain about exclusives, but frankly they are a good thing. They guarantee that every store WILL get some quantity of the Amiibo, as the retailer chains pay Nintendo to sell them. It would be a waste of money if they didn't sell any, so they will always have some stock over there. If that system existed here, then we wouldn't have Amiibos releasing at random, months after their official release date. Complain about low stock all you like, but you always have a guarantee that the figure will be there in SOME capacity. We don't even get that much here.

Don't even try to deny you guys have had restocks either. What about the amazing Target restock? The Gamestop one? There are more besides that, and they were all nationwide. You even get retailers directly communicating with you on social media about these things, we don't get that here. I won't deny that a few rarer Amiibos have started to show up in the UK and Ireland, but that's because they aren't restocks, they're the first batches we should have received months ago. Wave 5 of the Smash Amiibos also went well for us, but that's the first Wave of Smash Amiibo that has gone well since Wave 1 and 2 (and that arguably only went well because Amiibos were only starting out, so the interest took time to develop).

Also Seiki, I imported a Rosalina months ago from WITHIN Europe (i.e. still my region) because I was informed by Gamestop via e-mail that all UK & Ireland pre-orders of Rosalina were cancelled, because they weren't getting her. I originally had her pre-ordered there. Also, Smyths de-listed her from their site a week before she was supposed to release. Granted, she's only NOW showing up in Smyths and there is a good amount of her, but how was I supposed to know that last December?

As for Gold Mario, that was actually received via trade on /r/amiiboswap. I traded an Ike for it, since he was a common over here. Gold Mario has not been released outside of the US and Australia, same thing with Silver Mario, and it doesn't look like they ever will be.

There is a difference between me importing because a figure LITERALLY isn't going to be available in my country, and US collectors importing because they will assume Europe has it "so much better".

I remember when everyone in the US said they were importing Yarn Yoshis from Europe, some even importing the bundle. Guess what's impossible to find here now, and has been since release?

At this point I don't even have a problem with people importing. My problem is US importers acting so self-righteous over it.

If you are going to import, don't start bad mouthing the region you're importing from or making false assumptions, or trying to justify it with "they have it better" when that just isn't true. The fact is, most people importing from the US do so before they even know how rare a figure is gonna be in any region. They are importing for no reason other than to serve themselves and because they are too impatient to wait for an Amiibo to release in the US (often times in much better quantities than Europe, hence the delay in release in the US), yet are trying to "justify" it and make it sound like a more benevolent act by deluding themselves into thinking "GRRR, WE'LL SHOW THOSE EUROPEANS, THEY GET WAY TOO MANY AMIIBOS".

Again, at this stage, I can't say I have much of a problem with the act of importing on it's own, and I never really did. I've sent CAV 5 Amiibos, 4 of which he will be trading me back other Amiibos for, and I've done a trade with a US collector on /r/amiiboswap for Gold Mario. I've also imported 3 Amiibos from Japan myself. I've imported Bowser and Toon Link from Amazon UK, and Rosalina from Amazon Germany. I've been involved in importing since Wave 2.

But you know, when I import, I don't start acting all self-righteous and saying "GRRR, UK, JAPAN, GERMANY, AND THE US HAVE TOO MUCH STOCK, I'M GONNA TAKE THEIR STOCK AND SEE HOW THEY LIKE IT". While all of these countries ACTUALLY do have it better than Ireland, I couldn't care less personally. No, my "justification" is that a product is literally impossible to get locally and will remain so for the forseeable future, so I will import from somewhere it is available. US importers don't have that situation, since in a majority of cases, they are literally only importing out of impatience or convenience, as the figures have ALWAYS released on schedule, even if they seem badly stocked at times. While it sucks that the mass amount of US importers has noticeably impacted availability in Europe (again, the Yarn Yoshis are a prime example), I know there is nothing I can do about that. However, what I do wanna change, is this misconception that Europe has it SOOOO much better, and this self-righteous attitude US importers have.

Also, as another note, I would say that, although it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be on the whole (especially since scalpers are pretty much giving up on Amiibo), US stock would be a LOT better if so many of you guys weren't aiming for two (or more - yes, it happens a noticeable amount in the US) of every figure. You can complain about Nintendo not giving enough stock to the US as much as you like, but in all honesty, no company makes stock with the expectation that so many people are gonna buy duplicates to have them sit in a box that will collect dust over the years.
