I say this because if I get all the characters, I want there to be some kind of reward as opposed to just getting another character.

Sure!
Remember some are small changes while other are big ones but they are all unneeded and sometimes risky tweaks.

- new bases (this includes engines, colored plastic bases and the elemental parts);
- heavy focus on gimmick figures (vehicles) to the point they took the places of potential characters and are required to complete the main story;
- first time a figure of any kind is not universally compatible;
- Elemental Gates apparently gone (not even SuperChargers Elemental Gates);
- first time a figure is somehow "ditched" just so they can sell a different one (traps and Trophies);
- general level structure being altered compared to previous games;
- logo being notably different;
- arts' backgrounds being completely different;

And this is just what we (or at least I) know as of now!
Imagine which wonders await us in September.

You see, it's a matter of personal tastes.
I simply listed the changes and focused on the ones I consider to be the most unrequired.

I for example am happy there is no Elemental Gate this time.
They were cool but we might finally start getting some elemental themed content wihout having it locked behind something.

EDIT: oh, didn't knew there were still regular Treasure Chests.
That's great news for me.
I like my treasures to be fixed to specific locations.

There's a 17 minute interview up on youtube with Guha Bala and JC. Anyone willing to survive through it? It's in french but I'm okay with not hearing them repeat 90% of what's been already said at all.

I'm still waiting for proper internet in my new apartement so I can finally upload my interview with Guha. Still not THAT packed with new stuff but hey, he is PR trained and the PR lady herself is always sitting next to the camera! And I managed o stretch it to 24 minutes even though they said "20 minutes including setting up the equipment".

Well, Smash Hit isn't winning the battle cry competition anytime soon. Not only his name is someone else's catchphrase and lines, his catchphrase managed to be more uncreative than Sunburn's and almost every Earth character says that in some form. Next we'll have someone's catchphrase be 'Power surge' which an uncomfortable amount of characters say for upgrades.

They didn't even bother to color Smash Hit's boulder differently from the chain... Meh.
Some CGI models look quite different from the actual toys this time.

And... Ok, I was going to wait to see the figures in person before saying anything but... They look kinda cheap this year at least compared to their artworks.
Plastic seem cheaper, not that many details, overused metallic paintings, humanoid shapes...
