The problem is more than Nintendo World needs to be getting the restocks. Not everyone in the US can just hop on a plane and fly to New York for a day to buy Amiibo. Sure, it helps the people in that area, but only that area.

I meant specifically in the NYC area.

Of course stock issues still persist to an extent in the rest of the country, though even there Target made waves not long ago. And, to an extent, the constant restocks at NWS serves to further lower the resell value on Amazon, making many figures more accessible for others.

Got a third Rosalina and a second Toad for customs, and got SM Bowser on a whim because he looks cool.

Just heard from my local GS that they will be opening an hour early on the 8th for the next wave of Amiibo pre-orders.

I wish they made more three packs because it would make collecting easier.

Good luck everybody tomorrow and I just can't believe Nintendo had to go this far. I sadly knew they were gonna do this and it's a shame that three of Nintendo's most unsung heroes are getting this kind of treatment. R.O.B., Mr. Game and Watch and even Duck Hunt deserved better than this and it is a shame for those who wanted them are gonna have to bust their backs to get them.

After a 3-4 month drought, I finally found myself a Toad.

I really need the Splatoon set, but I can't find it anywhere and don't feel like paying $70 for it.

Got my three pack and a used donkey kong!

Got there an hour before they opened and was 8th in line out of about 12 people. They did tickets instead of only Pro members for the first hour. Got the Retro pack ordered.

Went to Gamestop 3 hours after opening and they still had preorders available.

I may have misheard but they said something about getting 64 preorders?

EDIT: I don't know if this is old news or not, but I found something that said the Mewtwo amiibo will release on 23 October in Europe and on 24 October in Australia and New Zealand.

So DLC is in the disc just for the purpose of Amiibo and online?

I preordered my Retro 3-Pack. It was surprisingly easy, Nintendo's gradually getting better at stocking these things.

Could someone explain why Nintendo doesn't stock amiibo better? The customers get their amiibo, and Nintendo gets their money. Right?

They are well stocked. You can always get a Mario at a store. It's just the rare ones that aren't.

Well, I wouldn't call Amiibo as a whole well stocked. Sure, you can get Mario, Peach, and Pikachu anywhere, but when it comes down to the other 50+ figures, good luck.

now that i've got my retro triple pre-ordered, i'm going an amiibo hiatus until whenever amiibo festival comes out. good luck all!

They severely underestimated demand, which in turn increased the demand even more because the inital demand wasn't met, and scalpers only made the issue worse.
amiibo figurines take a good 3-4+ months to produce and get onto store shelves, so it's difficult to increase the supply quickly. They did produce more for later waves throughout the first half of 2015, but at that point the scalper market had snowballed the demand even more, so it didn't help much at first. It has gotten a lot better these last few months, though (cause we're now starting to see the effects of their production increase from 3-4 months ago).

Samus hasn't been printed in a while so I would classify her as uncommon/rare.

I now have my pre order too. I am amazed that not too many were there for them to the point there were even leftovers.

I went in 4 hours late and I got one of the three packs. The GS had 47 to preorder, after mine, they'd only sold 9.

It slightly amazes me to see these low number sales given Amiibo's popularity up until this point. Then again, I don't know the numbers for the other ones that were available. Could just go to prove how many are in the box collectors and are agaisnt the idea of a 3 pack.

Well, I think we've gotten to the point where I can go ahead and do this.
