i want to become better at art, but day by day goes by and not doing any art. Is there a way to help me get out of this procrastinating funk that I'm in?

And if you have this problem, what do you do?

Schedual? That's how I mainly do it... If you mean that you don't have time to advance in art. perhaps taking Art class could be an option on free times of your daily life?

Motivating yourself to draw can be extremely hard at times.

I basically just force myself to do it, thinking "hey, i have nothing better to do, why not draw a bit?"

Not the best method, though...

I sometimes use the same method too. As you said, it doesn't work all too great...

Start off with doodles and sketches first -- of anything at all really. I think you'll procrastinate further if you keep expecting to pull a masterpiece out of your ass every time you sit down to draw. It'll also help to get the cogs running in your brain.

here's some doodles i did yesterday:

which led to this

listening to music while drawing also helps, when i listened to this i ended up sketching this:

Yeah, its all incomplete, but its better than not drawing at all and feeling bad about it later.

Same way you beat procrastination at anything. Motivate yourself any way possible.

Are you doing art on commission? If so, then you really need a system.

lmao i'm having literally the exact same issue, so i know that feeling. i also want to write my novel, which i have planned and everything, but i keep procrastinating with that too. although i think a bit of depression may have something to do with it as well. :\
