Slightly off-topic, but I played against a ZSS CPU on Miiverse for the first time recently... never again.

Leaked Dr. Mario stage! Looks real to me!

I'm pretty sure those Virus models are from that Wiiware Dr. Mario game.

That being said we know a Dr. Mario stage was planned. I wouldn't mind seeing one.

Aren't all the Smash Run enemies also reused models though? That's why there's so many KI:U characters, right?

The KI:U enemies are reused from Uprising, but Uprising and Smash 3DS are both on the same system, and both use the same graphics engine if I'm not mistaken, and so their specs are similar. Uprising was already pushing the 3DS like Smash 3DS does, so it wasn't jarring to reuse those enemies.

However, reusing Wii game models on a brand new Wii U stage featuring 3D characters that actively move around (the game has unused stock icons for Viruses, meaning they were planned to be stage bosses you can KO like Ridley) would be really obvious.

I like the screen in the background shows what's happening in the foreground.

Really, because that's news to me.

You keep telling me "Duh, people hate on human characters and their fans too," but truth be told this is significantly rarer. And no, I'm not saying people are "racist" towards ANTHRO characters, but there's still some truth to my statement. ...Also: All Non-Humans=/=Furry.

The furry comment was me being tongue in cheek, I wasn't being completely serious.

And there are plenty of other human/humanoid characters that people think are overrated and people make fun of. To list a few that I happen to agree with:

-Princess Daisy has a rabid fanbase, and for some reason, they feel cheated just because Rosalina is getting into stuff because she is newer, and thus, "less deserving". What her fanbase fails to realise though, is that they are fangasming over a very minor character who hasn't been very well realised, and whom her very creators don't really care for. Her personality is almost the same as Peach's, only a bit more brash and loud. Heck, she was literally designed as a replacement for Peach in a game where Peach could not be used legally, and even kisses Mario and everything. She has no super unique qualities or powers, and even the idea of her "representing the sports games" is silly since Peach already represents those a little bit, and sports is not something unique to her (she is one character on a roster of MARIO Sports games). Plus, I think most people would rather a character from an actual sports franchise - Little Mac is kind of that. People act like Daisy "deserves so much better and that Rosalina is cheating her", but Rosalina is a well established character that particularly stands out for how well realised and detailed her character is, especially compared to other Mario characters, and she was already shown to have unique powers before Smash started development. I also hear some Daisy fans say that she should piggyback off of Rosalina's inclusion, and be included because she "completes the trio of Mario princesses", but that's stupid because A) Rosalina isn't a princess, B) Daisy and Rosalina have literally no affiliation or unique character interactions to date, and Rosalina even only has ONE with Peach in Galaxy 2, so Rosalina is definitely just her own character with little affiliation to the other Mario girls, and C) If you are saying Daisy should get in because she "completes a trio", you are admitting that she has no real merits as a character in Smash and that the ones who got in before her have more merits.

-Waluigi has a rabid fanbase. Even after being included as an Assist Trophy and Sakurai making fun of him with his "No matter how hard you try, you don't always make it into the battle" comment (another example of Sakurai making fun of another human character), people still insist he's one of the most likely and deserving candidates. But in actuality, like Daisy, he's a very minor character with not a lot of merit. Once again, he has no real unique abilities or powers. People once again say he should represent the sports titles, but the fact that people say that about Daisy AND Waluigi proves that neither are unique. And Waluigi's character basically amounts to "le wacky meme character who stalks Luigi and thinks everyone else cheated because he never gets his way". That isn't a lot to work with, and you can't objectively say he has more merits than other characters because of that.

-I'm not really against her, but a lot of people feel Shantae is overrated, and I kind of agree. People act like she is this super popular character, but in actuality, she is a footnote. And while her games are good, they aren't amazing masterpieces that break new ground or anything, they are just fun indie platformers that you can buy for a cheap price. Every other Smash character comes from some highly successful game that did something new for Nintendo, if not the industry at large, and Shantae would stand out for not being that. She may have her home on Nintendo systems, but that doesn't mean she's super popular among Nintendo fans. Furthermore, in all honesty, most people only pick up the Shantae games because "lol Wayforward waifus are 10/10". The characters are clearly designed to draw you in with their sex appeal. You could argue the same with Bayonetta, but her sex appeal doesn't come out of nowhere. She embraces her sexuality and it's a part of her character, and it empowers her. Shantae is just a cute girl platforming mascot character that happens to be sexy, because people like their waifu bait. It's like if Sonic was randomly a sexy girl for no reason.

Shovel Knight also fits the same bill as Shantae, except he hasn't even got the sex appeal thing going for him, or the "home on Nintendo" thing going for him, as he is a multiplatform character.

Those are just some examples off the top of my head. People don't make fun of ignorant K.Rool/Ridley supporters because they are anthro characters, they make fun of them for their often times rabid attitude and ignorance, acting as if these characters are holy icons of gaming, when they honestly don't stand out much. The characters I just listed are human characters who are made fun of or overrated for the same reasons.

I find K Rool over rated. tbh Banjo Kazooie or Shantae or Rayman deserve to get in before him and Ridley. Also most of my wants are anthro. Knuckles, Banjo Kazooie, Silver, Sceptile, etc.

I see no relation whatsoever. A lot of people want Banjo and would be extremely disappointed if it turns out he can't get in the game.

The Mii K. Rool costume baffles me in a few ways...

-From all we know, K. Rool is one of the more popular characters in the ballot, and one of the few first party characters with large support. I'm sure they want at least one 1st party newcomer, if this is them saying "Here's that character you wanted", whose going to be Ballot? Other than Bandanna Dee and Issac, I can't think of anyone.

-Why go through all the trouble of making a new K. Rool model? The previous Mii Costumes have been using their existing models, trophy or otherwise EX: Isabelle and Chrom. Yet the King has a completely new design, using elements from the Rare design (Which hasn't been used in 15 years, mind you) and the PAON design which every single Smash trophy K. Rool's ever had uses. He has a huge crown, tail, and golden belly from his Rare design and his Gem from the PAON models.



I don't know why they would go through the trouble of making a costume like that if they didn't plan on doing something else with it.

This could be either a deconfirmation or more reason to support him.

Option 1: Sakurai and his team decide that K. Rool isn't right for Smash for (insert reason here) and makes a Mii Costume for his fans.

Option 2: K. Rool is on course to becoming playable and the Smash Team is saying "Look at the support this guy has! What if we make a Mii Costume too and get twice the money?!".

No but seriously, since Olimar is basically one of the more complex characters as is, they could have really easily differentiated Alph really well as a clone. Give him Rock Pikmin, slightly different attacks, and maybe change up how he orders his Pikmin. It would have made him more different than the clones we got are to their counterparts.

Alph not being a clone doesn't hurt me too bad tbh.

I can't think of another first party newcomer that would have as much widespread appeal as K. Rool. Wolf is a shoe-in, I'm surprised he hasn't been released yet. Snake is pretty much dead with the whole Konami/Kojima fiasco. Inklings I really can't see getting in at this point, Smash 5 is their place. 3rd Parties are fine, but I really can't see them being the majority of Ballot fighters. If I'm wrong and the DLC is just a bunch of veterans/3rd Parties, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Now that the Mewtwo hype has died down, how good is Mewtwo honestly?

Mewtwo is OK, but he needs some buffs.

There's no official tally out there, but I feel as though Wolf, Rayman, or Banjo have had the lead since it started.

Of those three, Wolf is a guarantee even if he loses. And while it's a longer shot, Ubisoft and Microsoft both gave their blessing to the idea of their respective characters showing up.

I use the Splatoon costume personally. After buying the three DLC characters I had a bit of cash leftover and there wasn't anything else I'd be able to get with it so why not?
