Btw, the deity is called Baphomet and was thought to be worshiped by the Knights Templar.

incoming ****storm approaching. In all serious a lot of Christians take it to far or overreact I mean its just a statue, if you don't like don't look at it. sometimes I hate being a Christian because of all the stupid **** they do. lets just hope they don't start a second crusade!

it's more of a political protest of a local congressman or whatever saying that it's okay to put out the ten commandments in front of their capitol building, as opposed to an actual satanist movement thing.

i know this sounds like a weird thing to say, but actual satanists get a much worse reputation than they deserve anyway.

I agree, honestly. My best friend is a LaVeyan Satanist and their belief system is pretty legit.

This is a test of Christian America. Far too many Christians believe that freedom of religion means the freedom to practice Christianity ONLY and, being wholly wrong, they need to wake up. They won't, but those who have an ounce of common sense will laugh at them from the sidelines.

I don't particularly agree with the practice, but if a Ten Commandments statue is allowed I don't see why a goat idol statue can't be made. It's just a statue, it's not like anyone is forced to worship it or anything.

it's not a literal goat, it's just a figure that is frequently represented as having a goat's head. kind of like how anubis of egyptian paganism had a jackal's head

Im a Christian, and while I don't think this is a good thing, I can't stop them and shouldn't stop them. We all have the freedom or religion.

I saw one person respond to this by saying, well 80% of America are Christian so who should we really be focusing on here?
