OK, NOW it's time for me to consider buying the game.

Best part is my friend has Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. I was prioritising catching up on KH first, but now I don't have to buy the first collection, since I got a lend of it off my friend.

No, it's not.

I was holding off on Splatoon as it was lacking a lot of features, the biggest one being Private Lobbies, and it generally had jack **** content wise at launch.

Private Lobbies are being added to the game at long last though, and the game has had some content added since it released.

So now I'm actually actively going to weigh it into my budget when buying it. The Kingdom Hearts games I need to catch up on take a greater priority so I was gonna buy them first, but my friend just let me borrow his copy of 1.5 HD Remix for as long as I need it, so I can play through that and not have to fork out money for it. Meaning I will be getting Splatoon much sooner than anticipated.

Recap of the August update.

-2 new matchmaking options: Squad Battles and Private Battles.

Squad Battles have you create a private team of up to three friends to play with Ranked Battle rules against other teams. Unlike normal Ranked Battle, you always play with your team.

Private Battle has customizable and private matches. 2-8 players can play on any map or mode they want. Teams don't have to be even, but only 4 people can be on a team.

-Increased Regular Battle level cap from 20 to 50. Ranked Battle has added Ranks S and S+, which are above A+.

-2 new weapons types: The Splatling (Gatling/Mini gun styled weapons) and the Slosher (Bucket weapons).

-40+ new pieces of gear, including the winner of the JP Famitsu Squid Fashion Contest, the Festival Octopus Chef costume. Japan will also be receiving the Ika Musume/Squid Girl costume.

They have also said that unlike what the Splatoon Direct had said, they aren't stopping at August! It will go into Autumn as well, that's when we'll finally see the release of Rainmaker, some new maps shown off, and even more weapons. Unlike the content released so far, none of this content is on disk, it's a completely new system update.

It's like a Capture the Flag mode, with Rainmaker being a usable weapon acting like the Inkzooka. The goal is to take the Rainmaker to the opposing team's base, and if neither team reaches the base at the end of the time limit, the team with the most distance wins.

The SplatoonJP Twitter has just released a short sample of one of the new pieces of music coming to Splatoon in the August update.

Hightide Era - Hooked



This new fictional band is joining the Squid Sisters and Squid Squad as another 'creator' of the battle music. It's the same song as in the August trailer, so you can make out more of the song by listening their too!

When forming a two-person squad, you’ll be paired with two more players who’ve done the same, and face off against a team of two two-person squads. That’s a lot of twos! The other pair you and your opponents are matched with are random, but they should be a similar rank.



If you form a full-on four-person squad, you’ll be matched up against another foursome of similar rank.



What’s more, you can also form squads of three players, but these will work like four-person squads. You won’t get a handicap, but this is a great challenge for a group of three who think they’ve got what it takes. Oh, and by the way, you’ll still earn points and have your rank affected during Squad Battles. Just a lil something to think about before heading out with a team of three!

Also I would of LOVED the color scheme that Japan used for Milk Tea in their Splatfest for Marshmallows. It's so cute and a really nice color! Sadly America is just too god damn perverted...I mean there's even perverted stuff for THIS Splatfest going around.

I've seen Miiverse posts talking about wanting seeing marshmallow goo all over Callie, and putting a "Hot Dog" in Marie. When will this madness end.
