It may be to early to worry about but do you think guest stars will come back? And if so, who do u think it will be? I'm hoping for wario and waluigi.

I guess it'd depend on if the Nintendo starter packs sold well enough.

I'm hoping for none. I mean, I have a Wii U, so it's not just the "I Don't really want it, but somebody else gets it, so it's unfair!" mentality. I just feel bad that other people can't enjoy the character,just because they decided they want a Xbox or a Playstation. If they keep this up, they will have to do this for all gaming systems, because it wouldn't be fair if only nintendo owners could experience those characters. I mean, what if they do this for characters that are playstation exclusive, and are super overpowered, so that if you don't like Playstation. You miss out on a super fun character, that also makes the game slightly easier. One of the things that makes skylanders different is that they create new characters, and if they keep having guest stars, that distinction is gone.

Oh, look, in DI, I can play as a marvel super hero that already has a ton of games about him, and I know all his powers. Super fun! Oh, look, a new, never before seen character! I wonder what its powers are?

Might just be me, but I think an all new character that I don't have, and haven't seen for years and years in ads, and branded on everything imaginable, is more interesting than the same superhero that I HAVE seen in ads for years and years, and is branded on everything imaginable.

THIS is why revamps SuperChargers are a bad idea.
THIS is why guest stars are a bad idea (even if they create specific ones for PlayStation and XBOX too it will still be a bad decision).
And THIS is why Skylanders are so... Incredible.
You genuinely want to know which powers the new characters will have.

This happens with DI and Amiibos obviously... But I doubt one would expect Captain America to shoot lasers or Pikachu to swallow an opponent.
Would you expect Voodood, Déjà Vu or Rip Tide to have all the attacks they actually can use...?

That would be actually pretty cool but only if you could somehow change the figures to match their new in-game looks.

They might be able to do it: you simply buy a "shell" for a couple dollars or less and then change it to fit the game you are playing.

I would sincerely like if guest stars could get the same treatment reserved to Spyro, Cynder and Sparx:
Bowser and Donkey Kong look too much like they always do; they are in the Skylands now and they should get matching look.

I would love to see some of Kooplings be involved. Ludwig or Morton would be really cool.

Not yet. But if they think it will sell there will be. Also, I did not say every single character was like that, but most are. Spyro and Cynder are only two characters, in a game filled with new ones (but not if they keep up this trend of making as many reposes as they can).

Aside from naming more Nintendo characters, I would love to see the return of four old friends of Spyro from YotD.

I could definitely see those fitting very well into the Skylanders game and those elements are somewhat spot on.
Just to stay relevant with Nintendo characters, Kirby or Yoshi would totally be great to see.

Maybe Mario ? That would be good marketing for them. Almost everyone knows about Mario.

im guessing that if another nintendo franchise would be used i think it would be kirby, pokemon or splatoon they are the next most 'kid friendly' nintendo characters and its very unlikely we would get legand of zelda or fire emblem characters for example as they wouldn't fit in.

If there are any more guest characters, I'd prefer they be playable on every console (so no more Nintendo Exclusives). It seems pointless to have console exclusives.

Characters like other Spyro characters, Crash, and others gaming characters who are not console exclusives are who I would like to see.

Well, I could honestly see activision bringing in some of their own characters like, crash and ripto.

If they ever think this is a good idea again, at least have guests from every console company. It's still exclusive, but at least everyone gets one - I'm sure VV is all tingly from having their Nintendo-senpai notice them but other consoles exist as well with people wanting to have all 20 playable and not left behind because they chose poorly.

Or simply forget about this incredibly random idea and start making a big cast of universally compatible original characters again.

Because Bowser and Donkey Kong are the only reasons I am buying this. Horrible designs, Racing, no trap compatibility, still no PVP or heroic challenges, and other stuff. You watch Lego and Disney and amiibo will have Skylanders on their knees.

Honestly though, I think Yoshi would work well.

Except Spyro got a compelling lore, aesthetic change and explanation.
He didn't got instantly suck in the Skylands to fight the Darkness.

He is a Skylander.
Bowser and Donkey Kong are temporarily helpers from what I understood simply because they don't want their worlds to be wiped out by some force they didn't even know exsisted.

Opinions are opinions but so far Dinensions is the only series which could compete with Skylanders, since it apparently want to deliver the same unique experience mixed with some gimmicks and creative (even if not original) characters.

Amiibo don't even have proper games as of now and Infinity is more about create and share.
Simply different ideas not better or worse.

You know what I think they should do? Something like Skylanders, except with Nintendo characters. Just do a toy line of Nintendo characters that work similar to Skylanders, but work on Nintendo games. That way, people won't be forced to have an incomplete collection if they wish to play on another console - because it wouldn't be for other consoles. Just Nintendo. They should just do something like that, instead of having Nintendo Characters star as Skylanders.

I hate the Guest Stars for several reasons- I feel bad for people playing other consoles, I'm worried console exclusives will get out of hand, they feel cash grabby, it's sort of irksome lore-wise that they only work on some versions of the game and SC already seems to be lacking in original Skylanders.

I like how Bowser and DK look- it isn't saying that much since I find this roster iffy, but heck, I like them better than all the Superchargers except Splat and Stormblade- I just hate the idea of console exclusive characters. Let me repeat that, I like how Bowser and DK look. They seem to have a lot of detail in their design and nice, polished movesets, especially DK. But having console-exclusives makes me worried and kinda breaks the magic more.

I'm disappointed that VV reached out to Ninty for this and I hope we don't get any more. Even though I want Shulk (and the entire Xenoblade party... And all the major characters...) real bad. Completely agree on everything (except for Shulk... Simply because I didn't even knew him).

Sometimes I wonder if they first came up with the Skymiibos and the revamps and then left the new Skylanders as the last thing to do.
Just look at the effort they put on Donkey Kong and Bowser!

Theay are also promoted much more than the other characters: it's Skymiibos, vehicles, revamps.
The true new characters are simply seen as "extras" while they should be the focus.

I still remember when one of V.V.'s leaders was excited talking about SWAP Force character design.
Today it seems to be all about gimmicks, "innovation" and side-features.

Wasn't it better when it was also simplier...?

I honestly don't see what the big deal is. I mean, to me this is no different than Kratos being in Mortal Kombat 9 for Playstation players or Banjo & Kazooie being in Sonic Racing for Xbox players.

How is anyone getting ripped off? Everything about the Skymiibos is completely transparent. They haven't lied about prices or compatibility, they haven't done anything to deceive anyone. A rip off can only happen if deception is used in order to give someone less than what they are rightfully owed.

It probably is gonna work out great. I am also expecting Kirby and Inkling to appear in Sky6. Would love Sonic though.

It's not exactly the same thing because here we are talking about physical figures which have always been universal compatible (again, one of the strongest points of this series) with all the different consoles... Until now.

It's about the fact 2 "Skylanders" cannot be used on all the consoles for the first time.

As I said before, the problem isn't having guests, the problem is having guests that are console exclusive and if you don't have that console you don't have anything.

If they had Bowser and DK in Nintendo, say, Banjo-Kazooie and (insert popular piñata here) on Microsoft, Jak and Daxer and Rachet and Clank on Sony, everyone would have 20 figures, just different ones. There's no wrong choice, you just go for favorites the same way you choose the gimmicklanders you like the most.
With this and with the overall fanboy attitude from VV, it feels like they just chose Nintendo only on a whim,and honestly feels selfish from them because they're fans of that and then only cared about that. Don't have a Nintendo console or can't afford two starter packs? You have 18 instead of 20 when we were told 20 until now. Of course, when asked about it in the FamilyGamerTV interviews, Guha Bala clearly showed they care more about how nintendo is rewarded than who is being left out, to the point of dodging the real question entirely.

While we're at it, let's throw in a lore explanation for why Jason and the Predator are in MKX, or why Ratchet and Kratos were in that golfing game.
Also, when was the last time Nintendo players got exclusive characters on multi-platform games?
I get where everyone's coming from, but seriously, I don't think this is worth making such a big deal over.
