Storyline;
Skylands was experiencing a period of peace. The Skylanders thought that peace had been infallibly achieved. But little did they know that an ancient evil was reawakening under the roots of the Tree Yggdrasil.
An ancient enemy of Skylands, Count Doomviper, reawakened from his million year slumber. He mounted his Battle Stag and headed towards the Ruins. The Skylanders, very unprepared for this invasion, could not properly defend the Core of Light. Doomviper sent his eagle, Razewing, inside the Core to destroy it from the inside. This time, the Sources were not merely scattered but blasted out of Skylands entirely! As the Sources fell to Earth, they began to change shape. They became pieces of their respective Elements that could be utilized by the Switchers.
However, with the lack of the Elemental Sources in Skylands, Doomviper was able to replace the Sources with Corrupt Sources which, when brought together, would unleash the Core of Dark. Doomviper acquired this and enslaved all of Skylands with the immense power it provided him. However, this did not go unopposed. Eon himself sent a powerful group of Skylanders to Earth in order to retrieve the original Sources.
These Skylanders were trained to harness not just one, but all 10 Elements! With the help of one of the Sources, these ten Skylanders could alter their appearances and abilities entirely! Now you, the Portal Master, must embark on a dangerous journey through Corrupt Skylands to locate and destroy each of these hidden sources in order to be able to defeat Doomviper once and for all at the roots of the Tree Yggdrasil.

This Skylanders game releases October 3, 2021 in NA and the toys will have purple bases. The Switchers can switch between Elements by attaching one of the Sources to the bottom of their pedestals. Without one of these Sources, the Switchers are still playable as their original Element. However, giving a Switcher a Source of the same Element will result in a power boost!
In addition, there will be a Villain Mode to the game. It is unlocked after completing the main campaign. It can be turned on to use the ten Villains Toys of each element and the three Ultimate Villain Toys.
