last night my internet finnly let me play splatoon and I played like 20 matches of it. im currently on level 5 hopefully I can play some more this afternoon. its super fun and addicting and I cant wait for the next aussie splatfest

For Europe, I believe it is this Saturday and Sunday at 5pm GMT. I would assume it's the same for Australia.

They need to increase the amount of stages per rotation from two to three. Two is too small, I once played on a single stage 4 times in a row.

For some reason, I'm playing exceptionally better in the Splatfest than in Ranked or regular battles. Usually, I get like 900+ points in the Splatfest rounds whereas before I got like 500+. I've also been better at being strategic as well as taking out enemies. Speaking of which, I'm now an Eternal Eating G̶i̶r̶l̶ Boy thanks to my good friends on Team Eat.

New Japanese trailer, plus a whole lot of news!



-2 new maps, a bridge and maybe some rooftops?
-Minigun weapon, seems to be an automatic. (EDIT: It uses the same one-eyed animation as the Charger weapons. Maybe the charging aspect of it comes from the start-up lag?)
-Paint bucket weapon, I can't really fit this one into a category yet. The closest of the three is the Roller, but it doesn't look like it leaves a trail behind you. (EDIT: I think the Gamexplain analysis definitely hit it on the head with an automatic.)
-Rainmaker gameplay. It seems the Rainmaker takes over the weapon you're using and becomes a permanant Inkzooka you must charge to use. You're definitely going to need to have your teammates by your side when you have it, because the charge time is extremely long.

EDIT: More revelations, many from Gamexplain's analysis.

-Possibly 3 new pieces of gear, a Straw Hat, a Hawaiian shirt with logo's on it, and what might be an Asian Conical Hat.
-New music!
-Splatoon is getting some pretty Sunshine/Mario Kart 8-esque world building added as time goes on. You can see both the Inkopolis Tower and Saltspray Rig,plus what looks to be the new Apartment/Rooftops level from Bluefin Depot.

Camp Triggerfish has finally been released!

...Yesterday.



"Pack your knapsack because we’re going to camp. Camp Triggerfish, that is!

When the Inklings aren’t busy making s’mores or boondoggle key chains, they enjoy the majestic scenery afforded by camping the best way they know how – Turf War! Battles here play out across a series of bridges, which you’ll have to cross to reach your opponents’ turf.

Each team base at Camp Triggerfish is outfitted with a set of floodgates. When the gates are down, it’s easier for the other team to come and go as they please. In Turf War, the gates lower with one minute left on the clock, leading the way for late-game assaults. In Ranked Battle, they stay down so players can come and go as they please. Watch out in Tower Control! The tower’s path is almost always over water and you’ll need to show off your best squid skills to avoid getting dunked.

Starting tomorrow at 7 PM PT, Camp Triggerfish will be added to the stage rotation. Maybe after we’re done battling we can gather round the fire and sing some jaunty campfire tunes!"

I finally have Splatoon and I'm having a blast with it. If anyone's down to play with me send a PM or GB message my way.

Jeez, I just wanted to try the new stage, but I had to sit through nine battles on Walleye Warehouse first...

The 96.Gal Deco is excellent on Camp Triggerfish from what I've played. I went up from C- at 30 points to C+ at 30 points fairly quickly. The range on it is good enough to cap the other Splat Zone whilst killing enemies and the Splash Wall sub helps too. Oh, and the Kraken special helps take out any opposing players coming over to your side easily.

Also, does anyone else play with gyro controls off? I seem to be in the minority compared to other users.
