If not for the fillers naruto would be crazy good though

Like the way the animators make some of the more important scenes is just amazing
Only downside being the fillers cause they're milking it like crazy

But I saw a video of the kakashi and obito fight and it was so good

And the other mainstream stuff except for the long as hell shonen anime are only mainstream cause they're actually really good

I don't watch the Pokemon anime (minus the movies) and Fairy Tail isn't as mainsteam anymore

Shonen anime is it's own specific genre with a particular demographic. I enjoy Naruto and DBZ well enough, but I don't take them too seriously. Naruto can really have it's amazing, impactful, and emotional moments though, and some of the characters are actually really well written and fleshed out, like Kakashi. And with DBZ, the characters are hard not to like, as they are pretty simple. However, Naruto has the filler and certain sagas (honestly I'd rather watch the odd filler than sit through Sasuke's backstory) that I don't like, and DBZ just isn't very good at overarching stories, and I feel the reliance on abstract concepts like "power levels", especially later on where their training basically means nothing anymore, is just very difficult to take seriously and get emotionally invested in. DBZ is at it's best when it isn't taking itself seriously and how powerful some of these characters are is basically used for laughs. That's why Battle of the Gods was such a good movie IMO, as it realised that. And of course the fighting can be really mesmerising to watch...when they stop with the mindless taunting and exposition.

I tried watching the anime Naruto, didnt interest me

Though I did enjoy these~

although dragonball (not z), the first three seasons of bleach and pokemon up to advance are pretty good
