Yeah they are still going strong, they have 4 channels (Smosh, Smosh second channel, Smosh Games, and Shut Up Cartoons) currently. This not counting Anthony's regular channel.
The Smosh movie will also be full length and in theaters (Markiplier also will make a guest star appearance)

It's not.

Just look at the trailer. It's another one of those bad comedies that most people either don't take too seriously or they just critically pan them. All of these types of films recieve a lot of bad reception.

Sure, Sharknado was a film not taken too seriously and it received positive reviews. But according to the viewers and critics it was another level of a "bad movie". This, on other hand, is a movie that is just like the rest of "bad comedies". Kind of like how Adam Sandler's movies turn out.
There's just no way this movie will be taken seriously or considered "good". There's nothing about it that makes it stand out and most people are tired of watching comedies like this.

Also, it says it's gonna be in theathers. Well, tecnically. This is another YouTuber movie (which, by the way, are most if not all considered bad) and those only release in "special" theatres for a short time. It doesn't really count as a normal film like the ones you see in theatres.
Also, the fact that it's a YouTuber movie and that these are never good makes people take the movie even less seriously.


So, to conclude, don't expect this to be any good, because it won't. It's not even gonna be in actual cinemas. If it's not even gonna be considered an actual movie, it won't be considered a "hit" that will be the best of 2015.
Personally I'll probably watch it, just for the sake of being a Smosh fan, and perhaps I'll enjoy it. But I don't have really high expectations, and neither should you.

The TV show was actually pretty funny, and I'm upset they canceled it.
Just googled it. He's in the Fred Show and Marvin Marvin. The good one was Marvin Marvin.

Make sure you wear an eye patch and watch it with a parrot to get the maximum pirate effect.

I have reasonable hopes. I loved Smosh when I was younger (pre-2011) and I feel like it would be easier to make a feature length plot with them over Fred.

It honestly sounds to me like it's set to have a limited release. No big worldwide or even nationwide stuff like Ant Man or Pixels, but I do expect it to be shown in a few of the bigger theaters for a short time (like AMC Empire 25 here in NYC?).

As far as Youtube creations go, I feel like the Smosh brand is big enough to get a small theatrical run.
