Viscosity, as you all probably know, is a term used to describe resistance to easy flow in liquids. High viscosity would be something thick and creamy, like maple syrup or molasses. Low viscosity liquids would be thin and watery, like gasoline or blood.
But what about your emotions? Do they naturally pour out like a waterfall, or do you have to squeeze them like ketchup out of a bottle?
For me, they come out unencumbered, unhindered, unchecked at full force. It takes effort for me to suppress them, actually.
That has its ups and downs.
What about you?

My emotions have been all over the place since I've had depression which started several years ago. Now I can't even remember how emotionally stable I was before the diagnosis. Now however, I actually find it hard to show any of my emotions. I've been in a state of apathy for a while now.

Emotions for me are a very complicated thing.
It's hard to keep them in check some times especially being the way i am.

My emotions are likely what you could call "high viscosity emotions". It's not like I have to force them to appear, they're just easy, you know?
I do feel strongly sometimes, but I don't have fits of anger or bouts of joy. They're just emotions, once you understand where they come from they start to concern you less and you'll be able to move them aside. |

I have a hard time expressing my real emotions a lot of the time, at least until I'm alone. I usually just hide them with happiness that isn't always genuine or I'll act sort of emotionless.

I guess I would have the high viscosity kind. I tend to be the one listening to others vent and trying to provide a level headed, unbiased and sensible evaluation of their problems the majority of the time, rather than the one venting. A lot of people often tell me that I sometimes come off as intimidating due to a lack of clear emotion when responding on certain subjects, and I mostly would not intend to intimidate.
It's also very rare that I get visibly emotional over something. And if I am showing emotion, I try to make sure it's happiness and overall being friendly. The recent passing of Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata is the first time in ages I have felt legitimately heartbroken over something to the point of wanting to cry, as he was a hugely inspirational person to me. So that marks an exception to my usual, calm/blunt demeanour.

I'll just say one thing: Look at some of my posts from the Roleplay section and you'll know. I'll let you know exactly which posts when I find them.

I cannot remember the last time I felt a strong and sincere emotion. So I guess that my emotions can be represented as that tiny bit of ketchup in the bottle that is very pointless to squeeze out. So just rinse the bottle with water and recycle it and continue on with one’s own respective life.

I had a feeling that you were quite emotionally detached.
