Regular Starter Pack will probably not me necessary, as Stealth Elf and Hot Streak have been confirmed as single packs. We can assume that Spitfire will also get a single pack.

Unless, I'm mistaken this is incorrect. Regular Starter Packs only have one SuperCharger vehicle (Hot Streak). Stealth Elf's vehicle will be sold separately. Spitfire may be similar to Tree Rex and not be sold separately. Only way to get it is via a regular Starter Pack.

Single Pack Hot Streak has been confirmed,so Spitfire not being sold at least in a Combo Pack is very unlikely.

Nah, I hate owning anything video-game related without owning the original package. But if there are no cards at all I might do it.

Of course I won't get all the starter packs at full price, maybe the Dark PS4 and WiiU, but the others will have to be in discount or second hand. It's just not very efficient to buy from ebay right now because of the $ exchange rate and shipping charges.

He hates buying things online and wouldn't absolutely take into consideration the idea of getting something from eBay.
My cousins aren't interested in the Dark Editions but I don't think my uncle's the only one to think it that way.

Activision should know how to make money at this point... Yet it almost seems they don't really want us to buy those Dark Editions.

Depending on where you live. It might be easier to buy the starters and trade them in or sell the game/extra figs privately.

Living in Norway - even with the really high prices we have here compared to everywhere else in the world - the shipping usually makes buying the separate figurines online almost as expensive as just buying the entire starter pack in our stores. :P

While it's nice that Nintendo owners will get either Donkey Kong or Bowser in original or Dark versions, I just want to get Dark Spitfire, Dark Hot Streak, Dark Super Shot Stealth Elf, and Dark Sea Shadow.

My Plan is as follows:

- Dark Wii U
- Dark Wii
- Wii U (Year from now when its on good sale)
- 3DS (Year from now when its on good sale)
- Single Pack Spitfire
- Single Pack Hot Streak
- Ebay for Dark Steal Elf
- Ebay for Dark Sea Shadow

That's a good plan. The regular starter packs will always be available. It's the Dark starter packs that are hard to find months after release.

my plan is simply a dark wii u and a normal 3ds so i get both amiibo landers even if one is dark I get both vehicles along with the bonus of hot streak and spitfire

I am planning on getting:

Dark Wii U
Dark Wii
Dark Xbox
3DS (when reduced around June 2016)

I can find Donkey Kong, Barrel Blaster, Spitfire and Hot Streak preowned as I can usually find starter pack figures at around £5-£7. I will sell spare Kaos Trophies, Dark Spitfire and Dark Hot Streak on ebay to hopefully get the money back for at least half of one of them. My mum will hopefully get me one for Xmas. Hopefully, the same with my dad as well.

We also know that dark starter packs have usually been released in limited quantities, at least it was last year. If you want a dark starter pack, it would be wise to preorder and accept paying full price. I don't think many of the dark version will be available at high quantities, decent price used.

Dark DK and Dark Bowser won't be easy to find. Limited quantities of dark, plus amiibo only collectors are going to make this a hotter commodity. In contrast, I think these amiibo only collectors are going to be putting their trophy, dark spitfire, dark hot streak, dark barrel blaster, dark clown cruiser, and game itself on the market. Some will just keep it themselves, but a lot will sell. As well, there will be skylander fans who buy mulitple starter packs to get every version of the figures. So that means that users will have multiple trophies, dark spitfire, dark hot streak, and the game itself. Unless they want multiples, it's available to sell.

Personally, my current strategy is to buy the dark xbone version at go live, then look to get regular versions of wii u and wii after the price drops. I miss out on the dark skyamiibos this way, but I'm thinking I can live with that and save myself a $100+.

Anyone thinks the regular Nintendo guys and vehicles will be available in any packages other than the starter packs? Getting 3 dark starters sounds pricy enough, but 6 starter pack for getting every single figure is really crazy. I have a full collection up to Swap Force, I've bought about 3 starters (1 dark + 2 normal) every game, I knew that Acti is greedy as hell, but now they really grinds my gear with this move...

yes thats another prtoblem, they limit these dark releases... so people might be forced to buy for another system they dont own to get what they want...

I'm not getting caught up in the hype about limited quantities of dark starter packs. The key is to buy them at launch. Two previous releases and finding the dark starter packs was not a problem...at launch. After that, it is more difficult to find the ones that you want. Preorder if you must, but there will be plenty of them and TRU still has its midnight launch events to ensure you get the ones you want.

Yeah no, aside from the one Dark Pack, I would buy the other guys second hand. Thankfully, I haven't been bitten by the Amiibo craze at all.

I definitely don't want to buy multiple Dark starters, and I think it is ridiculous how they made each starter having a different figure so the collectors will have to buy all of them. I'll probably just buy the Wii U version and leave it at that.
