Do you guys think the inclusion of Donkey Kong only in the Wii U version will mess up our (Wii U players) chances of collecting all characters when the Dark edition (or whatever edition they come up with) is released?

Clarified version: If I buy the dark edition that comes with whatever characters, do I also have to buy the Wii U classic version to get donkey kong?

There is no confirmed Dark Edition yet, and probably won't be.

You could get DK/Bowser/Spitfire on Ebay

There will most likely be a collectors edition of some sort

Yes. Or buy them used individually.

The same happened with Swap Force and Trap Team.

i will just say this... you better have the money ready to spend. if you are gonna collect 'em all, skylanders is not a cheap game and never will be.

There is no confirmed dark edition. No rumors either, just speculation based on previous stater packs.

There could very well be a different name/theme for the collectors edition (if there is one), since 'dark' is now an element.

So assuming there is some sort of collectors edition, we have no idea what characters are actually in them. Perhaps there's a wii u collectors edition that has DK, Stealth Elf and Spitfire, making it easier for wii u players to collect them all.

So basically, no one can answer your question, it's speculation upon speculation upon speculation. Any answer would just be a wild guess at this point.

I hope there is a collectors edition for the nintendo systems like spitfire,steath elf,bowser,dk and some vehicles

Keep in mind it was revealed that the Hot Streak would get a single pack, and with it, it will be likely that Spitfire will as well. Do you know how dumb it would be for Activision not to release these packs for the players who bought a Nintendo Console starter, or the digital starter for another system? And there's even a Stealth Elf single for the digital owners as well. So don't worry, in all likelihood, we'll have a Spitfire single.

I just hope there won't be another Dark Edition. Skylanders has had enough of that ever since the Dark and Light elements have revealed themselves.
