Ok so there was this guy and his assistant doing street "magic" (A dollar per trick) for people who walked by. This trick being reading minds.
How it happened
1st he asked my friend to think of an answer to a question that he asked and NOT say it.
Then he touched a piece of metal my friend was holding (something about it being a psychic rod?) and then wrote down what he read and gave it to his assistant to hold. (folded up and held in front to show there was no answer switching) He then told my friend to say the answer. (the question was "What was the name of your first pet" which my friend said "Rogue")
He then asked his assistant to unfold the paper in which has been folded in plain sight and has not been altered in anyway. (I kept my eyes on the paper the whole time so I can confirm there was NO way it was altered)
And on that paper was a name in black ink clear as crystal, it was "Rogue".

We wasted 2 dollars on him (I decided to be the one who got read on the second time) and he even got mine right! (He asked "What is your favorite t.v. show character" in which I thought "Aang")

Sounds neat, but honestly I need to see things like that for myself in person to believe it.

He's obviously a fraud, no one's actually psychic.

There's no such thing as a real psychic. It was nothing more than a magic trick.

The paper wasn't altered in anyway, I kept a close eye on it the whole time and we didn't know the guy so he had no way he knew the answers before asking

While that may be true, this a common "distractor" for magicians. They tell you "hey look, something is gonna happen on this paper, and we haven't altered it in anyway so you KNOW this is true". This means that the audience is of course going to FOCUS on the paper while the magician or the assistant does something right under your nose!
