What is Survivor?
At its essence, a trivia game that pulls from a variety of different subjects. Players compete to answer the most questions correctly and survive as far into the game as possible. Later editions added a role playing element with abilities akin to Forum Mafia and/or Werewolf. It originally ran for 9 complete games ("seasons") from June 2013 to June 2014 before it was shut down. A (somewhat unofficial) 10th season ran in the fall of 2014.

If this gets enough interest, I'm looking to bring Survivor back for a one-time only revival. This would be a reunion tour of sorts. If anything were to happen after this, it would be without my blessing, as I really won't have the time to look over the game (much like with that 10th season I mentioned earlier).

Why are you trying to revive it?
My time contributing to this site is definitely weening as I'll be departing university for parts unknown in May 2016. Combine that with the fact that, save for a few exceptions, most of the Forum Games seem rather superficial and act as outlets for spam, and I thought it would be a good idea to bring this back.

Truth be told, I had one basic idea that I never used. It was actually going to be the 6th season, but due to the theme choice used for Season 5, I had to shelve it indefinitely. But I think I can make it work now.

How do I sign up?
Please post in this topic if you are interested in joining the game!

What sort of time commitment will this game require?
It shouldn't take you too much effort to play. The length of the game will be determined by the number of players in it, since that will mean more rounds. If you are that worried, I have prepared a total of 2 "joke roles," that will allow you participate in the game on a superficial level. You may choose to sign up for one of these by PM-ing me. Just know that you cannot win the game in one of these roles, but you can still play.

Do I need extensive knowledge of the past seasons to play?
Looking back through the original topic, being a frequent player of Survivor does not guarantee success during the game. The best advice I can offer is to read the rules and questions very carefully, and ask for clarification whenever you can. If you don't, and you lose, you've got no one to blame but yourself.

What if I don't know anything about the theme you've picked?
Knowledge of the content used for the theme is not necessary. In addition, all players will be provided with background information on their roles to help them through the game. I can promise upfront that there will not be any challenges based around the subject being used for this theme.

As an update: I'm hoping for either 17 or 20 players. If you discount the 2 joke roles, a multiple of 3 would be best for this season. Hopefully we'll get that many? <.>;

I wanted to do that back in the original topic, but I could not for the life of me balance rewards/abilities. Everyone was too damn overpowered. It would have been "Godmodding: The Movie: The Game." <.<;

The idea is obviously Pokemon. Season 5 was Pokemon, held in Ecruteak City. If Season 6 had been Pokemon as well, it would've been a bit redundant, so that's why he shelved it.
