Activision stated there would be 20 characters, Ten being New and Ten remodeled, and 20 cars for their respective character. But now we have DK and Bowser. Although DK could be the new life, Bowser is the Fire element. And we already have Spitfire and Eruptor. So that means

Activision lied in saying there would only be 40 total figures. There is now 42, because we don't know if there is another Life, which I doubt there isn't, making it 44 figures now.

They've lied in the past,they'll keep doing so because no one calls them out on this. They'll say whatever they want as long as it's going to make someone interested that day,proven wrong later or not.

I wouldn't yet call it 'lying' per se. Just not fully honest.

The main game (which would be xbox and playstation) may only have 40 figures.

Nintendo games are a special edition which have 44.

And then variants (can't forget about those variants), are additional as well.


I think when they say there's 40 figures, thats for the base set (variants and amiibo's are considered extra)

Actually if Light and Dark only have one character and one vehicle each it would still be 40 new figures.

However I sincerely hope they didn't ditched two possible brand new Skylanders in favor of two Nintendo only guest stars...

Drek, I promisw they won't do that. DK and Bowsy are playable only on Nintendo consoles.

However, maybe there really are just 40 figures. The poster shows just one Dark figure and its vehicle and one Light figure and its vehicle. That would be 10 new Superchargers, 8 reimagined Superchargers, and 2 Skymiibos. That is 20 figures and 20 vehicles, which would equal 40. I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that no one knows for sure. I am fairly certain that most of the workers at Activision could even tell you how many figures there will be. It is not like they have not been wrong in the past.

Sky Dad confirmed that there is only 1 Lights and 1 Dark. It is still 40.

I'd say the FamilyGamer and Myskylanders reveal interviews; but at this point the videos all melted together in my mind,someone who's organizing them better might be able to link specific timestamps. I know for sure that the Wikia Q&A with the link that breaks the BBcode has it,though.

there's only 1 light and dark this time. there's 40 figures (20 vehicles and 20 characters) 4 of them (2 characters and vehicles) will only show up in nintendo games. that leaves you 18 characters and 18 vehicles you would see on any non nintendo poster.

If you're so upset at Activision lying, don't buy the game and speak with your wallet. I've never looked at the number of new figures announced with each game and I've tried to stay away from the hundreds of gameplay videos out there. If I were to take the time out to watch that 30 minute video posted on another thread today, the content won't be new to me when I play it. I prefer being surprised on first playthrough rather than having a huge chunk of the game be familiar to me prior to launch...I know many others see things differently and try to absorb as much info and gameplay as possible prior to launch...to each their own.

I think the problem with lying is that if they lie about that,they're still getting away with other major dumb stuff they say. "We'll adapt the speed for every old character" from SF during E3 - 1 stat increase IF you have the legendary treasure/charm thing isn't adapting in any way in this series. No one knew they were saying things that weren't going to happen because the game wasn't out yet.

I don't think there will be more than 40. If you saw my poster analysis, I saw only 36 vehicles on there, one for light and dark and two for the other elements. Donkey Kong and Bowser make up the remaining four figures. A total of 40. That's my assumption.

Well, for fire, it's Spitfire, Eruptor, and Bowser as a bonus for Nintendo console owners, so I don't think that's the case.

Technically it could be considered less than 40. For non-nintendo people it could end up being 18 characters and 18 vehicles. So technically the Xbox and PS people are getting taken.

DK and Bowser are exclusive characters to Nintendo, they are not part of the Skylanders.

Yes they are. They are consol exclusive Skylanders, but they are Skylanders.

Actually there will not be any returning Light nor Darks characters, Skylander Dad confirmed that. DK and Bswr replace them, making it 40 instead of 44

Ummmm....what? There are 20 Skylanders and 20 vehicles. That seems pretty straight forward. They didn't say around or approx. 20 Skylanders and vehicles. The question was asked and answered. You can argue the wording all you want but that seems like a terrible waste of time. Hey I don't judge people based on their hobbies. I also know better than to argue logic with you but most people will see it as Activision stating 20 Skylanders and 20 Vehicles...as they should.

I don't think "most people" thought 20 meant exactly 20, no more. Like when they said to collect all 32 with Spyro's Adventure and released four figures at launch that weren't even in that count of 32.

amazing, how much is this going to be argued? it was said there's 40 figures total. 20 characters and 20 vehicles. the one blurred poster shows 18 and 18 each. 1 light and 1 dark. the dark one was revealed. nintendo revealed their 2 exclusives which leaves you a total of 18 and 18 for non nintendo sytems. there's not going to be more than 40 figures and how it's looking there's probably not any adventure packs to go with it this time.

It's a fair assumption that most people don't have conversation about what's excluded or doesn't apply to the conversation but more what's included and available or relevant to the conversation. When was the last time you bought a dozen eggs where the carton said "At least 11 Eggs"? Come on now, don't be like that. Taking some license here I 'BELIEVE" they implied that 20 vehicles and Skylanders will be available to EVERYONE. I can't play as Bowser or D.K. on my PS4 so adding him to the count wouldn't mean anything to me. As far as I'm concerned they don't exist. They are "extras" to a portion of players. A 22 vehicle and Skylander count doesn't affect me so why confuse me? My total playable count is 20/20 so that statement is still true..../game on.

First off in regards to soda, or any liquid, oz. are a measure of volume not weight. Second my 16 oz. can of Monster has "16 FL. OZ. (473mL)" printed at the bottom of the can. There's not implied or literal printing of "contains at least 'X" but may contain more" message anywhere on the can. I know it can contain more, hell it could contain less even though it shouldn't.

When Activision was asked " How many Skylanders and Vehicles in Super Chargers" they answered 20 and 20. 20/20 is the only number combination that covers EVERYONE that will play the game. I don't think that is debatable, but I'm sure you'll find a way.

Plus they're Nintendo only so they could be seen as a gimmick, like the original Sidekicks.

Which would mean they have no bearing on the final Skylander tally.

Nintendo aside, we knew there would be more than 40 figures. From game one, Skylanders has always had variants. I expect to see a Legendary, Nitro, possibly Enchanted, and a holiday version. And, don't forget about the chase variants (i.e. clear Skylander with vehicle). Frito Lay could have another one of its hit-or-miss promotion for a Skylander variant. 40 figures? Yeah, right.

I doubt this was V.V.'s decision. Something like this has corporate written all over it. I could be wrong here but I'm pretty sure Acti. had this deal working with Nintendo and instructed V.V. to design the 2 exclusive Skylanders. Developers usually want their content to be experienced by as many people as possible. Exclusive restrictions like this insure that a certain percentage of players will never experience these characters. I can't imagine any developer that would be happy with that. They're simply producing what was ordered.

There are two each for magic, water, tech, undead, earth, and air. There are three for fire and life. There is one for light and dark. That's 40.

The blurred poster circulating around was either taken from a xbox or playstation game since it only has the 18 characters and vehicles upon it since they won't list the nintendo characters on it. so you kind of are right that there will be different posters and possibly box art of what characters will be in the game.

There's going to be 2-3 Legenary and 4-5 in game variants, so I fully expect the full body count to be somewhere like 27-30 figures.
