It doesn't necessarily have to be a warning, however they are typically given in a context of rule breaking or cleaning up posts in relation to one such disruptive post. Given the facts presented, a post was made stating that the user had already seen the video, not saying that everyone's seen it and trying to make the user who posted the video to feel bad, simply that he had seen it. Sure this may be slightly pointless to post as it doesn't contribute anything towards discussion and is merely stating a fact that few may care about or can agree with; but nevertheless, there was nothing wrong with the post to warrant removal. There is no rule being broken by any given party in the scenario, merely a post being made, someone not liking it, and then removing it.

To Matteomax's comment about it being off topic, this isn't exactly true. It was on topic in regard to the video that had been posted. Off-Topic would've been more if someone started a topic about the next wave release for Skylanders then people started bickering about scalpers.
