I like how you can switch from Skylander to Amiibo at the base. Though not being into skylanders that much now, I have no interest in this skylander gimmick. Well, if they release other Nintendo characters like Zelda, I may get the figures.

You really should give the game a go, it's actually really fun. Almost everyone that I know that hated skylanders when it was first released and gave it a go absolutely love it. Especially now that this year there are no longer elemental zones, you only need 3 vehicles to 100% the game and you can complete the game with just the starter pack.

Anyway, I cannot wait for that 8 bit mario - any word on the price yet?

It looks like a typical kids action game for a movie tie-in, and always has. I just have no interest in Skylanders at all. It's meant for kids and their parents, and I don't fit into either demographic and it doesn't appeal to me otherwise.

It's not a a game worth paying extra for, that's for sure.

It's not that. Skylanders has detailed but kiddy character designs, the hip voice acting, and is basically a simple action game that isn't all that difficult and doesn't have a high skill ceiling.

Mario games have simple, timeless character designs, no real voice acting besides the iconic grunts and what not (not counting Sunshine, it was an exception), and the gameplay is simple, yet diverse and offers a lot of options. You can explore, speed run, etc. One is made specifically for kids, the other is made for people of all walks of life.

I mean, there is a reason why 3D Land brings back Tanooki Mario, or 3D World brings back loads of SMB2 references. A lot of people who played those old games as kids are now adults, and they like playing Mario for the refined gameplay and to tackle the games as challenges. And those nostalgic elements are the bait for drawing them back in.

Super Mario Maker has probably one of the better Amiibo functionality. If Pit is usable in Mario Maker, than I'll be able to use Kid Icarus Maker! Or Sonic Maker! Or Wii Fit Maker!

They come out with the game in Europe and Japan in two weeks. The game is coming out in October in the US, so it's likely the Amiibos come that day.

Got my Sonic Amiibo from Amazon this morning:

I should have Palutena and Villager tomorrow.

Gonna preorder ZSS and Ganondorf on Sunday when I have money. I got Dark Pit preordered already so there we go, then I'll just wash peoples cars until I have enough for Palutena then wave 5A complete. I have Olimar preordered so give it two/three weeks and I'll preorder Bowser Jr and Dr Mario.

Last time I preordered, it was hell. I'll wait for Ganondorf to be released, and buy him when I have the money. Ryu and Roy, I just might preorder. I did preorder the Chibi-Robo pack though.

Also my GameStop Shulk just came in, and I ordered an Inkling Girl, but it got delayed, so I got another one for MSRP, but didn't cancel the other one, so I have an extra NA Shulk and NA Inkling Girl, if anyone wants to trade for Ryu or Roy when they come out.

My palutena and villager came.

My Lucina came two days ago, my Inkling Girl should be here any minute now...

I swear it's like Nintendo is so selective on which amiibos they want to restock. just the other day I went to Gamestop and Toys R Us, and both had a decent supply of Pac-Man amiibos. Yet there's still no sign of Robin or Lucina. :/

No, he's selling quite a bit, they just made extra of him. Just like Sonic and Mega Man had extras made too, that's why they're pretty common.

The only Wave 3 amiibo I can find with any consistency is Bowser. I'll be lucky to see a Sheik, Sonic, or Mega Man.
