Cats are defiantly better.

They dont lick you, poop everywhere, bark at everything they see, smell or need a bath.
Cats are funny, playful, adorable, fluffy, clean, hygienic, loving, calm and have personality.

I like some dogs but cats top them for the above reasons ^
I have both a dog and cat so don't give me crap about 'you haven't experienced having a dog before'.

Cats definitely. They're my favourite animal. Kittens are my weakness. <3

I've never been a huge fan of dogs. I just never liked their general behavior, and how they have so much spit on their tongue. I prefer cats because they're more mature (can't really find a better word, sorry) and just seem smarter, and I love their general appearance.

But there are certain dogs I do like such as huskies and border collies. Huskies are my favourite dog breed and I'd totally get one if it weren't for them needing huge amounts of exercise. -__-

Actually no, you do when they are kittens but they learn to poop outside in the garden (not the lawn). Plus they burry their crap.

That's kinda dependent on if you have a garden, or even a lawn.

even if the cat is an outside cat

Also, cats are boring cuz lots live outside, what's the point of it being a pet at that point if you rarely see it

My friend has a cat who doesn't have a litter box.

My grandma has a cat that doesn't have a litter box.

My other friend has a cat who doesn't have a litter box.

The point is to have a MEMBER OF THE FAMILY who acts like they are a part of the family. My cat sleeps with me, plays with me, goes crazy (it's hilarious) and watches movies with us (she sleeps through them...)
My dog destroys everything he sees, eats his own ****, jumps up on people and scratches on the door. If he would learn that if he doesn't do that I would play with him, but he doesn't.

Plus dogs smell! It's gross.

Duh, he listens to my dad and me when we say no. But when my sister and mother are involved... He just doesn't listen. I knew someone would mention training.

I had a dog for fourteen years, only did these things the first year or two.

i yet to see a cat eat it's own ****. they just seem to have more sense with things like that.

But they do...

And if you died in your home, fyi, your cat would eat you, a dog wouldn't. Dog are more loyal and are incredibly helpful in helping disabled people, helping special units, etc.

cats are loyal too and grow bonds with their owner. i hate it when people say they're not loyal, because they're are. seriously there are just as much stories of cats saving humans than dogs. heck, did you know they 'meow' as a way to try to communicate with humans? like, they created their own way of trying to communicate with humans, and it's something they wouldn't normally do in the wild. feral cats in the wild are mostly silent.

it was not long ago that i heard a story of a cat saving a little boy's life (he was about five i think) after he got attacked and pulled off his bike by a dog.

Dogs don't. Dogs generally have such a strong bond with their owners they feel physical pain when they pass away, they are incredibly loyal.
there have been many many cases of cats eating their owners, they have no regard or sympathy, and it's not cuz they were starving either

only in the case of starvation usually, it's the same as if your best friend died, and you'd die if you didn't eat them

Any animal could eat their owner if the situation is right
And if anything, I see a cat more likely to do just that
A whole species isn't defined by one dog

Dogs are way more loyal than cats
Not saying cats aren't loyal, but most of them do not have near as much care for their owners, and are just lazy
Both of them are better in certain situations and for different people, but dogs are the overall better pet
