The one thing I notice when I look at the figures in the starter pack is that they don't have a base color. Hot Streak looks to be the name of the vehicle & it looks like there will be driving/racing and old school skylanders action as seen in image 4. The suspense for the trailer is killing me at this point. I'm loving them blue flames on Spitfire & the repose of stealth elf looks worth it.

EDIT: So there is a new portal with the trap vault, guess that confirms they'll work!

Yeah it seems there's gonna old school action after all. However, I'm quite worried that the racing thing is going to have a very strong focus, not only are vehicles featured in an "standard level design" as shown on image 3, but it seems there are also some sort of grand prix levels (images 2 and 7).

This is the most disappointing thing.

1) looks like reoses are gimmicklanders.
2) no colored bases kind of srink, that was always fun to look forward to.
3) looks like the traps are usabale, you can see a slot in the portal if you look hard enough
4) you can't put the skylanders in the car, like I've been telling people
5) in my opinion the portal looks rather lame.
6) the cars can shoot, so there will be vehicle combat, which helps.
7) stealth elf (life) can drive hot streak (fire car)
8) still regular combat scenes as expected.
9) first look at an undead car
10) the jet the leaked air Skylander is different than what we've seen, leading me to believe the vehicles are also upgradable

I was also pessimistic about the racing until realized; we would get faster gameplay. The current gameplay is alright but feels a bit slow at times.

The gameplay seems more fast paced. However it worries that the vehicles thing will take a big share of it and reduce, consequently, the classic slash/platforming style.

In the first picture look at the pose of starter pack spitfire and then the pose of unboxed spitfire. Am I crazy or are they different?

Seems like a downgrade for Portal Masters who used to summon great warriors in defense of skylands . Now we off the race track . Racing game would be a nice side thing like the arena or pvp but to be the main focus ? At least there is some normal level,s too I see .

No, you aren't. I also think racing would be a nice side thing but not the main focus, and I haven'tplayed DI yet.

That's all I can say for now.

I am seeing some choices that may turn into BAD moves but I'll wait and see the gameplay before saying anything else.

I've just thought of something, you know the wooden looking board that the characters are standing on ontop of the base, I think we can take that off and place it into the vehicles. Yeah, you heard it first here cause I'm calling it. It also explains why the element symbols are engraved into the board above the base. So I think it can be taken off the elemental base that holds it and this engine board is actually put into the vehicle. I think this makes perfect sense.

I thought the same thing...back when the prototype leak came out.

According to gameplay and images it could finally be that we'll have more freedom of flight with flyign characters. Look at the height that the new skylander is flying.

So it looks like we will have reposed figures as gimmicklanders after all

your not bias and not alone thinking the focus is wrong. this is just a totally different game with skylanders attached on top.. i think vv have gone to far with this car thing.

And there is a trap slot on the portal. We get to play as villains after all

Oh, so Hot Steak isn't literally a steak. Kinda disappointing, but oh well.

I love everything about this game so far. Everything's looks amazing.

The vehicles, characters, gameplay, the reposed skylanders having different paths, the traps providing elemental ammo and villain sky stones.

The vehicles look great as figures and in game and I love the idea of customising them.

This time we actually get a gimic that isn't just about getting more characters to do the the usual stuff with. This'll definitely hold my attention for longer then the past 2 games did.

They haven't commented on online or verse mode yet but on an interview I watched the guy did suggest they have something else interesting to announce in the future.

Sadly I have to agree.

This game looks AMAZING and will no doubt keep me busy for a lot of time.
But so will The Witcher 3.

I wanted a Skylanders game, and don't think I will get one this year.
We'll see... I hope to change my opinion in the future.

I'm fine with Jet Vac being back, but I wish his color palette wasn't blue again. Last year's red was a great change. This one is too similar to his Giants origin IMHO.

That explains why Toys for Bob put so many new things like minis, traps, elites, etc. in Trap Team, because I feel like this is a series changing game right here...R.I.P. original skylanders concept..

Only core characters are kids' considerations. Based on my arrangement of core characters since SWAP Force on my Dropbox gallery, the uppermost characters probably make a hit as the next reposes, and the lowermost are probably rare to showcase; but we do favor them. Kids' exaggerations are taken in consideration to develop this next game.

huh the blue flames for Spitfire are different for each chunk of art. In the box the flames are more transparent and in the concept they are more milky. Which one is it?! I hope the final is the milky one.

Well if the classic gameplay is the same as say trap team AND there 50% more with the cars etc then thats cool. If its the same length as previous games and 50/50 then ya that sucks, but its nice to see them at least trying to do new things each year and not the same old over and over.

I think you only need Hot Streak, or possibly any other land vehicle, which S1 Spyro can drive. But still, I don't get it either.

Did anyone noticed Stormblade's upgraded knives in her fourth picture?

They almost look similar to Sky Slicer.
