Following rumors over the past few weeks, it has been confirmed the Amazing Spider Man 3 has been cancelled, they are rebooting the series with a new actor. I liked the actor for The Amazing Spider Man now we'll have this guy.

Well what you guys think about this?

I personally prefer the old actor.

Yeah but it's not just this. A bunch of movies and tv shows are getting reboots when they're totally unneeded. Marvel I can understand I guess, for this particular case, but in general everyone needs to just stop.

He was bit when he was 16 in Earth 616 ( I'm 99% sure ) and that's the universe The MCU Earth 19999 is mostly based off of, and from what we know of so far is, this version will stay closer to the comics compared to all the others,

The original Spiderman trilogy was great
TASM was terrible

As much as I hate Asa Butterfield, he looks older now, and I'm not that mad anymore,
And this isn't a prequel movie, Marvel specifically said they aren't doing anymore origin stories, which is great, so no more rehashing whats already been done, getting bitten by a spider, etc.
He's going to be introduced during Captain America Civil War, and I'm hoping it will follow the Civil war storyline, and Spiderman is on Iron mans side...
Mostly because I want to see Iron Spider..

Assuming they are going to follow the comics loosely with Civil War, Spidey was 15 when he was bitten by the spider. Not to say they WILL follow them but we shall see.

Yeahhhh.. but I wanted the Avengers to reference Daredevil... But I'll just have to wait, but I'm still excited for the Power Man, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones Netflix's series too, and hopefully with all those new characters, they'll tie in to the MCU.. Maybe..

I honestly liked the first TAS movie and thought Andrew Garfield played a better Spiderman. :\
The second one was really terrible though.

Although I was actually interested in seeing Mary Jane get introduced in the third one....

Although if the next Spiderman movie is going to be under Marvel rather than Sony, than I'm really interested in this.

First off, THIS NEW SPIDER-MAN IS NOT AN ORIGIN STORY. We'll first see the MCU's Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige:

Granted, we don't know for sure what role he'll actually fill in Civil War, but it most likely won't be the same one he had in the comics. With Peter just showing up in Civil War, he will not be as well known as he was in the comics. In the MCU, he's just starting off, it wouldn't be that much of a shock if his identity was revealed. That role will most likely be given to Ant-Man, or possibly Black Panther.

In addition, the only reason we're getting a new Spider-Man is because Sony decided to play nice with Marvel and share the movie rights. With already established mythos for both the MCU and any of the past Spider-Man series, it just wouldn't make sense story wise to have either Macguire or Garfield be the MCU Spider-Man. They need someone new to fill that role, to make better sense, story wise.

And just for the record, OP is hella misleading. Asa Butterfield isn't Spider-Man yet. Asa Butterfield is still in the mix, but there are five other possible actors being screen tested in Atlanta for the role, those being Tom Holland (The Impossible); Judah Lewis (seen in this fall's Demolition); Matthew Lintz (Pixels); Charlie Plummer (Boardwalk Empire); and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society). According to The Hollywood Reporter though, there's the slight possibility that Marvel won't cast any of them and keep looking.

But even throughout that, you can't deny that Spider-Man has always been about growing up. He learns the same lessons we all do, just in a more superheroic way.
