Actually, they are possible to be obtained legitimately shiny.

^Yes, through events. But they have the special "Faithful Encounter" tag attached which makes them unable to be put onto the GTS, Wonder Trade, etc. You'd need a hacked Arceus for that. <.<

I just found my shiny Tornadus after 269 SR's, It's timid and has amazing IV's

I traded an Onix off for a Shiny Umreon on the GTS. ^.^

Yesterday I found a shiny Zangoose in over 500 dexnav encounters which is currently my longest dexnav hunt followed by my shortest DN hunt this morning with a shiny Hypno in only 15 encounters

I got WT'd a Shiny Zangoose awhile back. The trainer put False Swipe on it, so I guess I can use it for catching stuff. XP

Caught my first shiny with my OT (excluding Gyarados from HG) chain fishing in AS a week or two ago! It was Sharpedo.

I don't have the patience for all that resetting and egg hatching hokum. I did it once for a shiny Charmander. It took forever..

Also, in Crystal, I found a shiny Gyarados in the Lake of Rage.. that wasn't the one that's there to start with. So, I had two shiny Gyarados at one time.

I don't like getting shinies from other people. I much prefer hunting them myself

I mean I'll do some DexNav chaining on occasion, but since I don't have the Shiny Charm (although I've somehow been able to get my Nat'l Dex up to 600 in ORAS) it never usually works.

^I actually managed to get the shiny charm in my X and OR.

Well I lost my Diamond copy that had a full National Dex. I then lost interest in Pokémon for awhile. So by the time ORAS came along, I didn't have very much to work with. I'm amazed I've gotten as far as I have with the Dex, mostly thanks to DexNav, GTS and Wonder Trade. <.<;

Just got Shiny Crotchfuzz... I mean Reshiram off Wonder Trade in return for a Shiny Latias! I only need Kyurem to complete the Tao Trio now. ^.^

EDIT: Found a Shiny Kyurem on GTS. The trio is complete! And I can use Shiny Black & White Kyurem. Huzzah! n.n

Yup! I've been SR-ing for Cobalion in Omega Ruby, up to only 1,400-something. The other week I hatched a shiny Ralts though, who is now a Gallade.

This is off topic a little but...

I went shopping on Friday to grab Pokemon X because it was on sale ($47) I arrive at the shop and I coulden't find any on the shelves. I was quite sad because i've saved for it and I just had enough to get it. I asked the lady at the counter if they had any in the back. Turns out 10min ago someone traded a Pokemon X in for a cheaper price on Pokemon AS, And to make matters even better, because it was preowned I got it even cheaper ($36).

I took my new game home, started with Chespin, obtained Bulbasaur and completed the first Gym.
Saterday completed 5 Gyms.
Sunday completed tle last 2 Gyms and the league.

Moral of story... COMPLETED GAME OVER WEEKEND!

I once got a shiny Karrablast. Went back to the game (Pokemon White) couldn't find it in my PC.

I have a shiny Vanilluxe on Pokemon Y and it hardly looks different from the regular Vanilluxe.

Got a ton of shiny pokemon from cheap trades.
