Thank you. I always try to go for a new topic that's not an All-Purpose(can't catch up) to at least try to chat,only to find people flamebaiting and attacking for the slighest of controversial opinions,or just outright spamming places like 'haters gonna hate I'll post 10 times about why I like this game/hate this game and so should you'. It's hard to go to more places than the Skylanders/General boards for me if people manage to be even less welcoming than the more crowded places.

To people who try to put down every single person for liking a game.

Well yeah, you're never going to change someone's mind if you act like a 10-year-old at the mention of that game. You can hate it with the rage of a thousand suns, but just keep it to you and your friends to criticize it. A simple 'I don't like it at all' or 'It's not my cup of tea' is a flamewar and hurt pride avoided. But it's the internet,people go for that like it's candy.

Sometimes I wish it were that easy. Sometimes it goes both ways, people being bashed for liking certain games, and for hating them.

You can apply that to just about any opinion. If you REALLY want to change someone's mind, you show arguments, not insults. You tell them the gameplay has such flaws,the story or character has such flaws, and a game that does it beter,etc etc in a calm manner and if they don't care you have to let it go.

But I mean, a person with an opinion I hate must be crazy so why be civil, say most people who are just looking for a fight in a forum.

I only insult those who are insulting themselves. Saying someone has a **** opinion is being insulting, and when people say stuff like that, it's usually when I tell them to shut up.

I try that, people still bash my opinions.

The moment you insulted, you lost the argument. No two ways about it, you used violence and made an enemy when you could've at least agreed to disagree. Doesn't matter how many did it or who started it.
I'd link a neat chart about it but it's kinda NSFW past the point of being okay to post on a family-friendly-site.

If you saw someone drop their level, it's time it stopped being a discussion and it's just slinging expletives. There's so much better to do than that,like discuss things you like. But if you guys want to know who said it first or last, I'll leave it to you to decide, because it went entirely over your heads.

There's stating an opinion, and then there's "Your opinion is ****" and "OMG SUM1 INSLTD KID IKUHRUS! MUS DFND!!!" If other people are respectful, then so am I. Most of the time, however, people are NOT being respectful, yet they still pretend they ARE being respectful.

The thing that bothered me to no end is that they had to delay the game to 2014.

Because they literally had a golden opportunity in that it was originally gonna be released in 2013.

Like they have all of these really meta references to the number 13 in the game, and they missed out on the best possible one.

I believe that people are entitled to express their distaste for a game, as long as they justify their reasons.

For example:

"I don't like this game, it sucks." Not acceptable.

"I don't like this game because __________ and my reasoning for that is ____________"

That should be fine, otherwise the threads will be one big circlejerk. Why not create some discussion?
