Well, GX didn't change much as far as gameplay goes (added a bunch of new archetypes, but that's pretty much it). It was when the Synchros came out in 5D's that I knew **** was starting to hit the fan.

No it's called an archetype that konami needs to seriously give another level 4 or lower to. That card having 2 ways to search it out (so pretty much you have "9 copies" of it) and terraforming exists for the field spell. Also it's extremely consistent regardless of that fact, so consistent that I topped a 50 man locals tournament with it (plenty of meta in the mix)


Also to any "genwunners" of yugioh, be glad they have recently added a huge load of support for the gen 1 decks. Like red-eyes, blue-eyes, and heck toons are META now.

There is a movie with Yami, Jaden (GX), and Yusei (5DS) aka gen 1-3 (Bonds Beyond Time if you want to watch it)
and a movie is coming out about older Yugi (not Pharoah) and Kaiba taken place in the timezone between gen 1's ending and the start of GX

Starting player doesnt get a draw phase on his/her first turn
And each player can control 1 field spell each (instead of 1) so no "field wars" (moments where two field spell decks place there field spell to remove previously activated ones the opponent has)
All other rules unaffected by the change


Or if you want, we can set a duel up on Dueling Network (I promise to use my irl competitive budget deck, aka the deck I mentioned earlier)
