Guys keep in mind that you were in 6th grade not long ago. You aren't 35. I don't recall it being quite this blunt but this sort of attitude was there.

At the very beginning of the year it was, but since we're past the first day of the year, we're closer to 2030. Kinda like how 2.1 is closer to 3 than 1.

Yes. Unless you want to be really exact in which case we're closer to 2000 until July 2, 2015 at noon(1pm if you use Daylight Savings).

And here I was thinking that the 50/50 split was the beginning of 2015 for some reason. This is why I don't do math.

I may not be 35, but I am 21. 6th grade was still a good 10 years ago and no one acted like that. Everyone still had the general idea of sex being gross (until 7th came along). No one dared to drink and drugs and swearing were still a huge no-no. The closest to dating was playground crushes we all gossiped others had but no one really seemed to.

This is how they act -- they're all talk though. It's just an attempt to get attention from the "cooler, more mature" older kids.
I think the reason us older people get surprised by this is because most of us never actually DID the **** that we talked about in sixth grade -- therefore we don't remember it.

Lol i had just moved to New York and hated everyone and everything and didn't even want to be in a relationship cuz i felt it was pointless XD
Also the girls in my class were so *****y that we were crowned the "Worst 6th Grade" in the history of the school

middle school is that period of time when you start to learn about these things for real and just the mere thought of these things made you cool. it's like when you have that phase in your life where swearing is the funniest and coolest thing ever. it's just attention seeking. My classmates talked about these things all the time and not once did any of them do any of it.

You're 21? Oh crap I'm sorry.

I'm 18 and while nobody I know in 6th grade did this stuff we were definitely aware and had an attitude that was similar (though not as aggressive) as this. Towards the end of the year we were going into sex ed and everyone acted ridiculous about it. When we reached the subject of condoms one kid asked if the teacher ever used them before, then tried to ask again with another teacher.

I'm not saying people acted on this stuff, but who says 6th graders today will either? Most of them will just joke around about it and try to act older until high school.

It was more so that my school district was so crappy that my parents pulled us out. I don't have a sixth grade photo, lel.

I went from fifth grade, homeschooled, and went to seventh grade at a different school.
