Be an awesome boyfriend and get her both?
Perhaps you should get her something special if she means a lot to you. Have you two been dating for three years? Why not get her a necklace? |

I think getting her a plush is something you do on a regular day just to be like 'Hey, I love you and I bought you this for no reason."
Buy her a necklace or earrings or something~<3

Wait, disregard my earlier post. A three summer-versary?
You sure you guys aren't like, friends? Like, are you coming onto her? Because I do remember you posting before that you liked this girl a lot, and you two weren't dating because she didn't want to date... Besides, a three-year anniversary gift should be much more meaningful. I'm going to go ahead and say that you two aren't actually dating and you're trying to get with her. Just my two cents. |

But he said 'girlfriend' and not 'a girl i know' so one has to assume it's probably the former.
Maybe.

Although he has mentioned before that he wanted to get with some girl, and it didn't work out....also, a "3 year summer-versary" and the thought of giving her a cheap plush only makes me assume that he wants to be with her, and that they are not dating. If he were to give her a necklace like you and I suggested earlier on, she may freak or completely reject him. Perhaps he is afraid of that?

*Obligatory 4-inch joke*
I like the first one better. Better yet, get both and position them as if they're having sex. It'll totally send the correct message.

Not everyone has the money to buy something as "special" as a necklace. And even if he does, maybe she doesn't like jewelry? It all depends on the relationship and the person, and honestly if they've been together for this long I'm sure she'll appreciate and love anything he gives her. At least he's thinking of her and cares enough to get her something at all. I think it's very sweet. As for choosing, I kinda like the first one better, but it really depends on what she would like. |

Not that I really want to get into all of the assuming that you guys are doing, but Windumup never said they've been together for three summers, just that they've known each other for three summers.

So I take it that this is your year and a half-versary then. Err, yeah, so? Unless she brought it up....that's a weird gift to give her for a "anniversary" present. I'm not trying to be an ass, but maybe you should get a job. That way you can save money to get her nice things...and I'm sure a girl wouldn't say no to jewelry unless you two weren't dating. |

She might not say no to jewelry, but she might find something like this has far more sentimental value. Plus I do know girls who like plushes more than jewelry, if you can believe it. Apparently when someone you love gives you a plush, if they're not there and you miss them you can hug the plush and feel better. I say go with the chibi. More huggability.

You really think some random piece of jewelry is a better gift than something that would actually mean something to the both of them? Just because it costs more doesn't make it a better gift.

No, not at all. But in the case of a 2 year anniversary, I would assume he would have something more special. A toy seems like something he would naturally buy her. |

In this situation my opinion is that 'special' dictates something one would not normally buy for another. If I bought my girlfriend a flower every month and then it was our year anniversary, I wouldn't buy her a flower, i would get her something else. If she wants a plush then great, but I would spring for something else if it were me in the situation. That's not to say it's a bad gift, just something I wouldn't do probably.
