What do you think of Spyro as a purple dragon? Do you think it's similar to LoS, where he's almost like the Avatar (Can learn all four elements and bring balance to the world) or do you think Spyro, instead of being more mystical and fan fic-y, is just a breed of dragon that can learn all elements?

I think the latter is that TfB is trying to go for, Spyro isn't some mystical being born every thousand years, but just a dragon of a very rare breed.

I certainly hope it's the latter, because the former is really dumb and one of the things I hated most about LoS. Spyro seems like a normal dragon in Skylands and I've only ever seen him breathe fire. The Malefor comic suggests purple dragons can be powerful, but there's no mention anywhere that all purple dragons wind up that way.

It's most likely the latter. He isn't from Skylands, but Skylands has purple dragons, so it's not some prophecy bull, just a really rare species. And Razz, Spyro is mentioned to have the ability to control every element in his bio, but he just doesn't want to focus on any of the others(though he was forced to control Darkness but that's more of a super form by now). Considering the damage numbers of Daybringer Flame in Trap Team,though, it's not like he needs to.

What do I think of Spyro as a purple dragon? I think he's awesome, and is my favourite video game character ever.

Everytime I think about Spyro, I always think of him in his original concept.

I hope the purple dragon breed will be explained in Issue 9 when Spyro fights Malefor for the first time.

They may just be a rare breed, I don't know.

It doesn't seem likely like they will show more purple dragons, though...

BACK TO THE TOPIC of Skylanders canon, there's also strangely the thing that Spyro's feats have been recorded for several centuries at the very least. It's obviously never said how time works between dimensions(and a year on Earth seems to have a lot more than a year happening in Skylands), but for a dragon that in meta has 20 years and sounds 30ish, how in the world he outlived the Ancients and several Portal Masters, unless time in Dragon Realms runs separately?

Center of the universe, time and space. Of course, we don't know how much time passes between other worlds and Skylands.

My guess, the guys who wrote the scrolls could see into the future and see which creatures fit best as a Skylander and Spyro had many achievements.

The fact lore is building up that purple dragons are a breed to begin with is kinda scary, your literally got dragons who can utilize more abilities and magic then gandalf the white and by birthright having a advantage over others.

That's nature for ya.

Keep in mind dragons in Skylands are pretty rare to begin with, almost exclusive to the Scalos continent with some species living in some places with strong elemental power outside but that's it. Having a purple dragon show up must already be some luck, let alone have it live long enough to train every element and master it. And since Ramses is just a green dragon who happened to sit in the Throne first ruling the islands at the moment, it means they don't even have one around that wants to rule.

Sadly Issue 9 never showed the purple dragon lore more. The only thing mentioned in the Dragon King story arc summary is Malefor being the first magical purple dragon of his kind.
