The police or whoever had Freddie Gray, purposely gave him a "rough ride", but I'm pretty sure they didn't intend on killing him, but that doesn't justify them not taking extreme care of Gray,~ >.>

Buttt... What started out as Peaceful protests, is now everyone from Baltimore-and-more taking advantage of the protests and rioting and burning down 4 different buildings, and using "oppression" as the reason why. I'd bet 90% of the violent protesters didn't even know who Freddie Gray was, or even what happened...

Honestly if they're going for this whole "purge" idea then they are gonna get it. If these kinds of protests occur because a white cop DOES HIS JOB and repremands a black man (which isnt racist in any way, shape, or form) then I would imagine that many police officers will quit and/or be killed. And I wouldnt imagine that anyone will want to join the police force for the exact same reasons. So there wont be any cops to actually inforce the laws made to protect all these protesters in the first place

It's insane how often this has been happening lately. I don't know the whole story about what happened to Freddie Gray yet, but regardless of which side is right in that situation, people aren't doing him any justice by rioting. Hell, i can say that for just about every riot that has happened over the past few months over situations like Freddie Gray's.

rioting isn't going to bring Gray back. rioting isn't going to give justice to anyone, especially after the cops involved with his death got suspended and are under investigation(as far as I know). and rioting certainly isn't helping the family members of Gray right now. all it's going to do is hurt even more people and cause more damage than there already is. How it started out as a peaceful protest and became this is beyond me though.

Again, i don't know the whole story yet so i don't know if things like the cops being suspended are correct.

Freddy gray's mother said to stop the roiting. The peaceful pritesting was fine and okay and understandable but looting and destroying inncoent peoples property is ridicolous and the looters should be punished.

MKL would be proud.

I know everyone is fine now but just going to leave a reminder to remain civil in this thread. This is a touchy subject I know.

I'm not fully aware of the story, but the cops were in the wrong to harm him to such an extent and refuse him medical attention even after he was in custody (it's not like he's going to escape from the hospital).

Peaceful protests and marches are absolutely fine to do. Unfortunately it feels as though a bunch of jackasses who want to cause trouble, get attention, and find a way to stick it to the man are taking advantage of the situation to destroy the city and loot. And chances are there are people traveling to the city specifically to take part in all the action. It's abhorrent behavior and I wish innocents in the city to stay safe.

There is no real justified reason to destroy your city.

Feel like noting that tomorrow's 2 PM (EST) baseball game between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox is closed to the public, meaning they'll be playing alone in an empty stadium. This has never happened before.

^It's MLB.TV's free game of the day today, so everyone can watch it without paying.

EDIT: It's also worth noting that Monday and Tuesday's games against them were postponed entirely until a later date, their weekend series with Tampa Bay is going to be played in Tampa instead of Baltimore like intended, and on Sunday fans were kept in the stadium after the game until police deemed it safe enough to leave.

All these people pillaging and plundering, and then we have this dude, and it is brilliant~

A guy died in police custody and they refused to take him to a hospital or anything. Yes, that's bad. The cops weren't right to deny him medical attention.
But rioting will not solve that. Burning down buildings, causing harm to people, being violent, WILL NOT fix that. The man is still dead. The police officers who were involved are still in the wrong. Rioting isn't solving anything. It isn't saving any lives (it's putting them at risk, actually), it isn't reversing time and making the officers do the right thing. It's just destroying a city.
God, if things like this start happening everywhere on a regular basis, I fear for the future...

If history has proven anything, throwing a fit like a baby will change things.

I just wish people would realize that in a situation like this, violence is not the answer. If you want to do justice for a black person, don't five in to the black stereotype, it just makes you look much worse. I just get so angry and I wish I could just talk to the rioters and get them to understand that this is a horrible way to approach the issue. Destroying public property doesn't do anyone justice.
