Exactly, I adblock on every site. And I have that obnoxious whatever on the bottom of every page blocked.

Its worth noting that on many message boards that you will be banned for displaying that you use adbock on their site. dS makes money from its ads.

I doubt such a rule exists here, though.

Its at the footer of the page. That can't bother you that much...dS is a site networked with Curse. Its supposed to be there permanently.

Ads make this place run a lot slower. I've noticed that when I have adBlock off or I'm on a computer without adBlock it's as slow as a snail, same with some other sites.

You realize that your internet is slow because you live in a university dorm, right? You're not going to get even good internet there.

Go on speedtest.net and post your results, I'm curious.

I actually use Ghostery. Less about adblocking and more about tracker blocking. I just manually go through and uncheck advertisement-specific blocking on sites that I enjoy. I remember having an issue with this site in that it uses just about every single type of ad, including ones that get listed as being potentially hazardous on top of being advertisements.
