I got the valentines and spooky house.

Went for a shopping spree,finally got Mags, Gigantus and Batterson so making Kudos from Aura doesn't take an eternity. Going to wait until tomorrow or more to get Gorm and Tuk, just in case the Dark Gateway doesn't go on sale.

Argh, really? I just bought Mags yesterday!

I remember when Mags first came out . They teased us with a quest to buy her at full price , then a few days later Mags went on a discount <still within the quest time> .

Glad I didn't have to double my gem count to get Mags. Hooray for sales!

Was happy to get 4 easter baskets (3 from well) and the spooky house and I got Wheelock. Oh, the $5 gem special for Hoppity Pop Fizz too.

Still hoping I see a Thumpback statue some day.

Figured out where I can get a Thumpback statue, its a quest for getting an aquarium. Now I just need that bird house (I hear its a Thanksgiving item) and a Christmas tree.

Why do you need a bird house ? The payout is rather sad .

It was a prize for a Thanksgiving quest last November, but you could buy it some time during the summer. I'm guessing we'll get another chance at them...
I think you can get a Thumpback statue from an Admiral Thumpback quest as well...I mean, I have 2 and I think that's where I got them from

I got a Thumpback statue from toy linking Thumpback . Its possible they might do that again .

well I have Thumpback toylinked as well (traded for his code very early on) but I also have Admiral Thumpback

I knew the Aquarium got me the 2nd statue, but I don't know about the first--maybe toylinking as well.

They've made the Thumpback Statue available a few different ways - the first was for cash with a gem-pack. Then as a prize in a couple of different quests and also as a prize for the Toylink (I think those were all). I know I didn't pay cash for mine, and I've got three of them.

Was a good week/weekend. First time the monthly alter ego didn't require the full 200 stones, got my egg roller for the town hall lawn in only 139 stones. 60 stones later one of my two remaining alter egos showed up (Builda) leaving me with only one alter ego outstanding. Spent the rest of my couple hundred stones but Lucky Boomer never showed, didn't expect he would.

Now I'm piling up gems and wish stones again and wondering what to buy first? I'm L44 and halfway to 45. So while I'm not in need of things I have a bit of a completionist streak.
Options for my 800 gem stash include:
Dragon house from current sale (don't have one)
Finish out the last few shrines I don't have maxed.
Storage space
Aquarium
Windmill
Save for Rufus, Tessa.

Opinions?

Shrines would be my first priority, since maxing them allows you to go over-cap from future quest rewards. And as a completionist you probably don't like to see quest rewards "wasting" one of the spots you could have bought (I know I didn't!)

I would go for shrines first if they're on sale. Max them out so you can win the extras from quests, etc. That'll help with your stone production so as the alts come back to the well, you'll have more chances to get Lucky Boomer (not so lucky, is he?). After that, get things as they go on sale, with priority on gem-producing houses and then companions. Community buildings can wait until they go on sale, or until you have a ridiculous amount of gems from Diggs.

I would spend my gems on the Dragon house . The first law of lost islands , Spend gems on something that gives you gems back . Gold and wishstones are a dime a dozen at your level . If you visit your islands multiple times a day , this house was made for you good looking .

I just bought another dragon house by the way . Now i have 3.

I just realized that I forgot to get into the game and purchase Fortune Funny Bone's hut . I've gotten to the point to where I don't play much if there isn't a timed quest. I know I was in the game when it was available, but I thought I'd come back and get it. Oh well, I'm sure it will be available another time.

Dragon House sale ended last night. Oh well. Will catch the next time they're discounted significantly.

As I've gotten most of the Skylanders and approached max level, the energy and enthusiasm changes. I used to check constahntly, now it's twice a day, and sanctums sit empty with some frequency, adventures aren't running constantly, and I forget to abuse the adventure clock regularly.

Will keep saving. Eventually buy the last two sanctums to free up the space. Should go sell 12 bakeries and 12 cocoa stands to have room for the last few rounds of B&Bs, fisheries, and taverns I've won. But when hitting Quigley is almost 5% when most everything is ready to collect (53% now) it's hard to micromanage that much.

I hear you there. I'm posting and playing a bit less myself these days. We are past our LI primes. The younger generation is in overtaking us!

I am a recent level 45 child and well I still visit it multiple times a day . I dont think i am a completionist but there is still plenty of goodies i still want to buy and I get more gems if i farm often . I noticed if i buy a new toy i usually let that skylander clear mobs or do sanctum time .
