New game revealed on the 14th by activision. Could be anything, even if it's not revealing skylanders at least reveals will start for the year.

Well they did say at one point that they had unannounced innitiatives.

It would be surprising to see them bring back guitar hero especially after how long it's been gone although I'm going to lean more torwards a new action/fps kind of game, like destiny or halo (yes, I know those games aren't made by activision just giving an example of what I'm talking about)

Destiny IS made by Activision. So is COD. I'd find it hard to believe that they would make another FPS. I also find it hard to believe that they WOULD bring back Guitar Hero. I think it might be those unannounced innitiatives that they talked about before.

Assuming they aren't covering the Wii anymore I can see them make their announcement on all of the Nintendo sources as they want their million+ customers to move over to the Wii U. I sense irony there since Nintendo is basically leaving the system for dead now that the Zelda game has been delayed and they've confirmed they are working on NX, the next gen platform. They've done a bad job getting and keeping third party support. People don't flock to Nintendo, they got it wrong. They need to market their platform.

Destiny is made by bungie, COD is made by 3 different companies, Guitar Hero is also made by a different company, Activision are a publisher not a developer

That's the same day that Mortal Kombat X will be released.

Just so you two know, Rock Band is coming back and I believe there were heavy talk to bring Guitar Hero back. I'm not even kidding, look it up.

I think it's a new sky landers game. I remember reading somewhere that Activision hinted that the fifth game was going to be some amazing thing.

Did most people responding in this thread not actually follow the link provided? The image of the invitation starts with the header "SoundDial" then goes on to list a bunch of bands including the Portland Cloud Orchestra. As much as I'd like to believe, this leans heavily toward this being a reveal for a/the new Guitar Hero. The brief "article" right below the invite image even speculates as much.

who knows, maybe they are revealing a bunch of things. Maybe the band names are clues to upcoming titles "Blackout Conspiracy" could be something about COD etc. "Pasts collide" could be something about skylanders etc.


Sure the last 2 bands dont make sense lol but who cares. its the only decent news of any game reveal so far.

I just had a crazy theory about Skylanders 5. What if the Kaos that will captured with the Kaos Traps turns out to be his exact clone? After defeating the Traptanium-powered Kaos and flew straight up in the air, he must have pulled off the ol'' switheroo while the real Kaos escaped without a trace. I know this sounds insane, but that's what I assume.

Unlikely. You can fine the contract online that Activision and Destiny have. A destiny game will launch every other year (so next is 2016) with 4 main games being produced. Every fall in between those years will be a big DLC item, such as this year's Plague of Darkness, which hasn't even officially been announced yet, but details on it have leaked a while ago. I bet we will see PoD at e3, but nothing of Destiny 2 yet, as there are still 2 smaller DLC packs after thus fall's Plague of Darkness.

Skylands needs a plague of darkness.

Wii U versions of these games never got the proper treatment anyway. If you were going to buy a new system just for Skylanders, you shouldn't go for the Wii U regardless of Nintendo's plan. The system will already be three years old by the time Skylanders 5 hits. That being said, you are basing your statement on a whole lot of assumptions. Isn't it good enough to just say: don't buy a Wii U for Skylanders?

It's an invite to a Guitar Hero event. The invite is all music themed and a new version of the game is expected this year.

In other news, over at FamilyGamerTV we've heard nothing about Skylanders 5. No news on an event, an announcement or anything.

Well that crosses out the Sky 5 reveal on that day..

Yeah and Rockband is coming back this year too, the rumors I heard with authenticated a month or so ago on Ars Technica (woo woo)

Now if only I could get a modern DDR game with some Skrillex/Diplo...

It could be COD but they usually save that for E3. Inb4 some goon says "COD sucks and is always the same game!" which is ironic because they nevered played it or enjoy Mario/Pokemon/Skylanders/Super Smash Bros/Lego Games/etc.
