Retail plus a few bucks for gas or shipping isn't scalping in my mind. Now, if you'd bought a $13 Sonic and sold it to him for $45, that'd be a different story.

Technically, probably so. However, don't let anyone give you a guilt trip about it. I'm sure your friend wouldn't buy it from you if he didn't think the delivery was worth the extra bucks. Now, if he/she doesn't know you have a markup, then I think you're taken advantage of his trust. Not something a salesman wouldn't do, but not typically how good friend's treat each other. Either way, it's between you and your friend and not for the general public to pass judgement.
