I am only at 10% of level 43. I just got Flynn because he was on sale and I am down to only 3 companions left to buy. I am doing it all free gem. I bought the piggy bank. I am at 1k gems right now and at 50 million gold. I was wondering if it is worth it to wait for a reduced cost skylander buy time, then spend the 150 gems to catch the 1/2 off and just go crazy on skylanders rolls. I am at 133 of 188 and I think if I did this I could get all of the remaining at 68m. My thought is at 68 skylanders they would pay for themselves (and then some) in gems by their levels and those quests they give. Anything I am missing in my assumptions? Since I am close to 45 now I really am just kind of trying to get situated for the final push.

Do you have Mags? you should, if you don't already, then Summon Wolfgang and spin for all you can afford first.

if you can still roll for skylanders, and have plenty of money that's what I'd do--forget about paying gems.

the only reason to pay gems for skylanders is if you have NO way of getting them elsewhere. Trade codes for toys you do have, spin as you need to. The swap Force are the only ones I'd consider doing it on, since they help with Sugar bats (2 gems if you have both parts)

But think about it, 15 levels and only 1 gem per level--there's no way THAT would help you recoup your gems in the long run--and their quests? 2 or 3 at level five and most of the time the prize is money and XP--NOT gems.

Unless there's a promotion I'm missing?150 gems to get reduced spins or something? Hubby took ipad OOT for an overnight training session

oh, maybe you need to buy an undead TrapMaster so you can get undead traps? that's the only other 'lander I'd buy with gems at this point

Yeah I have mags but I do not have a undead trap master. My thought was instead of waiting for him to spawn I can use mags to get him for 150. If I paid for the undead it would be 300 unless I waited for a half off anyway.

I would just spin for them (in fact--that's what I do every time a new skylander gets added to the game). I hoard undead traps so I can use Mags to summon Wolfgang every time there are new Sklanders to spin for. (PS if I went back in history 5 years and asked my past self if I would ever write a sentence like I just did (which an "outsider" would never be able to parve), he would have laughed and then probably punched me in the face!)

Spinning for skylanders to get the gem rewards for leveling them up makes sense, but I don't think you could ever "earn" back all the gems necessary to buy skylanders outright with gems, even on sale.

You can definatley afford to spin for skylanders . You are very close to the point where you will soon have nothing left to spend your gold on and it will pile up for nothing . Spend your gold as much as you can and slow down on using the most efficient cash cows that are max level .

I would say post that you are looking for an undead trap master code and list who you have available to trade in return. Then start saving undead traps. At level 43, you are not far away from having more gold than you can spend. I vote spending gold to spin for skylanders instead of spending gems.

I have them due to a wonderfully nice forum user! Now no need to spend gems and am just waiting for my guys to get trap crystals.

FYI - I believe you get 16 gems for getting a Skylander to level 15. You get 1 gem per level from level 2 through 14, and you get 3 gems for reaching level 15. With quests that number is probably 16 to 20.
