The life expectancy will continue to increase but I don't think there will be any magic "add x more years instantly" technology.

Yeah, that kind if stuff really scares me,

Honestly, I see some huge major war happening pretty soon within 10 years at minimum, I just don't see hoe everything can keep going this way..
A lot of times, i've thought about how terrified I am about dying, and how I wish nothing happens to stop me from living a long life, even though I don't see civilization continuing very much far into the future :/

There is a quote from Albert Einstein:I do not know what weapons Wprld War III will be fought with, but I know that World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
Badwolfmicheal, he's pretty much saying that the war you fear WILL happen, and will be so devastating that humanity will lose 99% of current technology, and we will go back to primitive-ish living. Really sad and true, actually. D:

We already have things for extending out lives, but i don't see people living forever.

You can't fight the inevitable.

He's coming for you

Medical technology and studies make some pretty significant advances on a regular basis, so it wouldn't be too shocking if many of the illnesses that affect people today are gone or mostly treatable by the time you would expect to get it. Of course the possibility of new diseases sprouting up are likely, but that would be handled when we get to it.

Life expectancy is definitely going to rise over our lifetime. And depending on how fast technology moves or how long we live, we could potentially even see some form of artificial immortality. Maybe through transferring memories, thoughts, and personality to a computer, or prosthetic/robotic organs and limbs?

I'd ****ing love to be a robot.

And as someone who's currently studying in the medical scientific field and will soon start a job in a genetics lab, I'm able to see how these technologies are formed, developed and implemented.

Transhumanist here. Let me just say that there are a lot of people working on the kind of technologies CAV already mentioned, and the more our western culture opens up to the idea of augmenting human beings with technology, the more will join them. I'm certain that we will see these things in the future, though they probably won't be accessible to everyone from the get go.

Personally I'm very open to the idea of being "transferred" to a robot body, or having my own body augmented, and I'm curious to see what sort of opportunities the future will bring with it.

today you can get cryogenically frozen. you need a lot of money, and faith that future technology can bring back to life ones own body or consciousness.

there is advancements on ways to prevent telomeres from weakening or breaking. telomeres are the reason why we age and die from old age.

there is also advancements on how the brain works and how the brain is scanned. it may be possible to copy all your neurons into a simulator, and thus copy's ones on consciousness. but that you will most not likely be you, just an AI of you.

all in all, stay alive long enough for technology to advance.....
