Son let me tell you a thing.

Spider-Gwen wasn't supposed to get this big. She originally appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2. She was originally just going to take a backseat role, until people read the comic. It had an interesting concept with a character that we hadn't seen in comics for years, an amazing art style, a super cool costume design, and a really nice lead in to Spider-Verse. She quickly became a fan favorite, (along with Ben Reilly, another character absent for years in comics, returning for Spider-Verse) and fans clamored for more. Naturally, the fans did all they knew how to do to gain popularity for her. Petitions went up, cosplays were made, and fan art was drawn. Tons of people wanted to know more about this new Spider-Woman.

Then Marvel did something that big companies hadn't done in ages. They listened to their fans. They gathered the team who worked on Edge of Spider-Verse #2, and launched a new series. And it was REALLY GOOD. The writing was good, and the art was more spectacular than ever. It was a very new and fresh take on a character we had not seen in ages. I had my doubts, until I picked up the comic while trying to finish my Spider-Verse collection. (I'm only missing Spider-Verse Team Up #3, and Edge of Spider-Verse #2) I really enjoyed it. It's also gotten great reviews from all the comic sites I've visited.

It really isn't just a crappy Spider-Man tie in. It's so much more than that. Unlike a lot of comics out there, (i.e. Anything DC) it has soul. It's a very fun read. Don't knock it 'til you try it.

There have been tons of remakes of Spider-Girl or Spider-Woman, but none as conceptually artistic as this.

Spider-Ham was pretty ****ing cool, to be completely honest.
