Oh my, Malefor looks like he did in DOTD with armour. Why is he not in the game yet?

The DOTD things were definately tweaked to not look as dumb though. His scales finally look purple instead of pink(though not in the pleasant shade of indigo Skyro has), and his lower horns are pink instead of white and don't look like plant thorns(though it might just be that they changed places,DOTD Malefor has another set of horns that are pink even lower than them), and his eyes seem to be orangeish-red instead of the out of place yellow. That armor does seem to be hiding decay though - the loose scales in his upper jaw DEFINATELY are a change.

If he isn't the new villain next game I will be very surprised, I always thought he was gonna show up sooner or later here, when I heard about
this I was like it's just gonna be a recolor of Vathek and then I get on this morning and see that awesome monster. I love this new design!

Huh, the red stuff on his helmet isn't chainmail or extra eyes, it's just his central horn under some shading. Interesting choice of color for that.

In Issues 4-6, there is a ministory at the end of each that leads up to the events of Issue 7.

Hex appears in issue 5? From the Wiki, it looked like it focused on Deja Vu and Blades and whoever else was in the covers.

There are mini stories near the end of each public version of the IDW Skylanders comics that leads to the story of a future comic, they're not added in the micro comic versions.

Skylanders IDW Comic #6 - Blame It on the Train, is now out!

From the public versions of Issues #4-6 (not the mini-comics), each has a mini-story near the end that leads up to the events of the Dragon King arc.

Well if there really is a Hex mini story, maybe it's a good time for me to test the waters on buying comics internationally. Problem is, Amazon doesn't allow books to be sent to my country for some reason, and the Forbidden Planet site doesn't sell previous issues. Ebay is also kinda problematic since most of the comic sellers send it with no tracking. Hm...

You can try reading the comics online, like on amazon from your kindle, comixology.com, googleplay.com, itunes, or on the official IDW Publiushing website, or on your mobile device.

Yeah,I'll need to do some research on that later; my phone is pretty simplistic so if there are computer options for the current comics all the better - still going to prioritize physical for Return of the Dragon King though, especially since it's a three parter.~

Recently got the 2015 edition of the Skylanders: The Complete Collection book. It has the old pages, but has new pages of the Skylanders that appeared in Trap Team, but they don't include the Light and Dark Skylanders.

The Minis have the same personalities as their regular, bigger counterparts.

Book of Elements for the villains? Was expecting Book of Elements: Light and Dark first,but do want anyway.

Hi there, Skylanders bookmaker/writer here.

There isn't really enough info about Light and Dark yet to warrant a whole book. The info about the Light & Dark villains, Trap Masters, and core Skylanders wasn't even fully released to us until after the Complete Collection had already been sent to print, and even now, we only know about 12 characters (villains included). So, not really enough for a full book yet. But if Activision decides to develop the Light/Dark elements more (again, not enough info yet), it'll likely happen later down the line.

Also, it's worth noting that the "Future of Skylands" book is going to be released under a different title, yet to be confirmed.

That's an exaggeration. I don't think it's strongly likely to happen, but possible.

In the last Mask of Power book...

He has been trying to conquer Skylands this many times? Doing the math he'd need to be doing that every day for five straight years and then some, but if the games are any indication he tries several times during a week/month then only returns the following year... A decade is still not close enough to how long he was bickering with Eon before finally getting the upper hand, then!

Perhaps it's multiple times a day?

He can't be everywhere at once,or at least in the games and comics he seems to focus on the artifact of the day and maybe some distractions. Unless they're also counting every time he just let the troll army do their thing, which then is much more than he could do himself.

And also, Skylanders Issue #10 - Light in the Dark Part 1 (of 2). This two-part story arc features the Ligth and Dark Skylanders and Villains, Nightshade and Luminous.

Oh god that cover looks so much like a cheesy superhero comic, the self aware is great.

But wasn't 'Light Show' the side comic for #6? Someone mentioned that before,I'm kinda confused since Cynder's side story was also mentioned to be in it.

On the subject of #7... What kind of Spell Punk is that? Beige colored, but using Magic spells,whut. And Spyro looks absolutely adorable when distraught,as morbid as that sounds. Probably something with the fact he sits like a little kid on his back there.

Light Show was first released as a separate comic exclusive for Gamestop. It's a story buildup for the upcoming Issues #10 and 11.

And it's a Magic Spell Punk, since it has the purple Magic symbol.

Well, at least it's good to know that Spell Punks can have robes of colors other than their element. All that OC potential...

Since Nightshade and Luminous will appear in issue 10 and 11, I wonder if there will be an explaination as to why the villains want to help the Skylanders after being captured in a trap.

Unless it takes place before Trap Team meaning they're far from being trapped yet. Except for the Kaos Trap and arguably the Minis arc(both are prequels but then again the Minis got training before the Academy even opened...?) none of the others seem to have a set timeline because they feature older characters.

Bumping this a little bit to say that Fico Ossio uploaded the first four pages on high definition with both inking and colors on his dA gallery. For those that want avatars and whatnot of Frightbeard,the Cyclopses or Gurglefin if you somehow like that last one.

Fico's art has improved a lot since he first started doing the Skyanders comics! I just don't like how many angles you uses.
