Now that we have 5 mods floating around - thought I'd throw this idea out there.

We get a new topic about every week that's along the lines of "What do you want for Sky 6?" (be it figures, reposes, in-game features, whatever)... and the same area tends to get covered... a lot.

So, I suggest this - a Sky 6 board. Two stickied topics - one "Everything we know about..." topic that is locked and only mods can post new information in. One general "Talk about Sky 6 here!" topic that anyone can post in. Set the forum to where only mods can make new topics. Then, once a week (or whenever it strikes the fancy of the mods), they can create a new topic (that anyone can post in) along the lines of "What reposes would you like to see for Sky 6?" or whatever.

It'd help keep down on the many, many repeat Sky6 topics that come up here and would make it easier to create it now rather than try to move everything over down the road.

That isn't a various fact; they're just letting you know that only one person really can do that job is all.

Again, I'm aware of that fact. It's just not really that important to the conversation.

It's like "The forums need electricity to run. Subforums cannot be created without it."

Again, thanks for the information - but not wanting to start a topic about various darkSpyro.net facts.

In the future, you might want to post your topics in the right part of the forum, where people are actively looking for site suggestions.

I thought about putting this there, but as it is 100% focused on the Skylanders boards and there are a lot of forum folks who only use the Skylanders subforums, it seemed better to put it here so that folks that will be effected by it have a better chance at seeing/discussing it if they have any thoughts on it.

I understand your reasoning, but have moved it over to SHaS board as this technically counts as a suggestion. Also, a Skylander 5 board will most likely be opened up nearer the time when we have some information on it.

Fully understand the reasoning on both accounts - just thought it'd be handy to trim the weekly Sky5 topics that come up. :D

Well, if you happen to catch one in its infancy, maybe report the first post or PM one of the Skylander mods so it can be deleted and reduce clutter? It's up to you, I guess, since I don't post on those boards.

I suppose they could be merged with an existing topic - but I don't think deleting them is the way to go. Folks are just excited about the new game - and talking about it isn't a bad thing. It's just the same topics seem to come up - and if there was one place to direct them to, it would clear the clutter a bit more. Just MHO, of course. :D

The problem is though, that it is a legit topic, and shouldn't be deleted. I have Skylanders 5 topics, and have posted them in Trap Team as it is currently the best place to post it. However, if a Skylanders 5 forum opened, I would move all of my topics there.

Merging unfortunately isn't that convenient. When threads are merged, the posts are all sorted by their timestamps. So conversations generally wind up getting broken up because posts from other topics fragment them. It's fine for small topics, but it gets awkward if they're bigger. Not saying that it isn't possible, but people would need to be vigilant! ^.^;

We could just make a stickied topic for Skylanders 5 general speculation/discussion in the Trap Team forum, and move it over to the Skylanders 5 forum when it's time to make that.

I don't see how that's less work than making a Skylanders 5 forum...

I'm not familiar with the Skylanders board, but maybe having a speculation thread stickied in the Toys and Merch section could do the trick for the time being until they actually announce the new game. After all, while there have been rumors suggesting it, we don't know for certain that it's happening this year, let alone at all. If the game were to be in development and not release until 2016, you have a relatively empty board of speculation with no real news trickling down until next year.

Skylanders 5 was confirmed, but its official name hasn't been announced yet.

Maybe it's for the best that we wait for an actual title and more info to come out before making a section. Is it a hassle to change section names (I have some doubt)?

I feel like it'd be less hassle to change the name than to go through and move the topics over from the Sky4/Toys and Merch board - but that's not for me to do. :D

Anywhoo, it's no big deal either way - Just something I thought would be helpful.

As we're starting to get tiny bits of Sky5 information leaked out, can we re-consider opening the Sky 5 board? :D

I'd like to recycle this suggestion for Sky 6. It's official, we know it's coming, and we have our first leak that's already been posted multiple times in multiples threads across multiple forums. Seems like this might help reduce some clutter and other issues. :D
