Please tell me if my views are wrong with this situation.

This year I'm moving to Zagreb, the capital city of my country. I'm going to live alone in my dad's house that's pretty much huge and I'll be a student and maybe work from time to time. All other apartments in Zagreb cost about $250 monthly, and that's just a rent, bills not included, so in total that comes out as $340 monthly for an apartment.

I am offering 3 rooms in my house, for each room mate, for only $50 just so we can split the bills. If I'm really going to find 3 room mates then it'll be even cheaper than 50 bucks.

Now.. I've known this one guy for a while and I offered him to be my room mate. But recently, when I showed him the house, he said ''it's alright as long as I can bring guys over''. Meaning, sex. Now I'm not a homophobe, but I am not the legal owner of the house, and the owner (my dad) is homophobic and doesn't want such thing happening in his house. I don't want to let him do it out of the respect for my dad, plus it'd make me extremely uncomfortable. But this guy is saying how he's disappointed, that it's not like he's going to have orgies or summon demons.

Is it really wrong of me to ask him not to have sex in 'my' house, which is pretty much the only rule besides no smoking in the house? I feel like he's being disrespectful with those small protests when I'm offering him a roof above his head for only 50 bucks...

The way I see it, it's your/your dad's house, so if he wants to stay he's got to respect your/your dad's ground rules. So what it's a shame he can't have sex, it's not the end of the world, he's got a cheap place to stay. And it's a bit disrespectful towards you as someone who knows him because you've offered him a place but asked this one thing of him and he's pushing his limits.

I can understand why he wouldn't be entirely happy with the situation. Like he said, it's nothing awful he's doing, it's unfortunate and ridiculous that the homophobia exists in the world and that he can't do what others can because of beliefs like that. But the fact of the matter is your dad's opinion won't change and you are his child, naturally you respect his beliefs even if you don't agree with them. If he wants to take a stand and go somewhere else where he can do his fun stuff, then he'll have to go find it himself.

I pretty much agree with Cynderfyre. Not gonna bother trying to say it better.

It's your dad's rules. I know it may not be the best reasoning behind it, but it is still a thing that he should respect and accept that you are respecting his wishes whether you agree with them or not.

Most of that thing seems to be large intimidating posts. Though my dragons are kinda dead right now, so I'm kinda sittin' back chillin' while everyone does their thing and my Snowsquall Floracat runs forever to get to shadow-land.

Don't be intimidated guys, as long as you haven't interacted with anyone else you can just do whatever the heck you want. Head home, join a search-and-rescue group for dragons who went missing and might not be dust now. Do anything. Be free~
