i mean u could use windows movie maker but that won't really help much

I was going to recommend Sony Vegas as well,

It depends on what you want to do. I like using Sony Vegas. The cheapest one I've seen is about $30 if you don't mind paying a little. Windows Movie Maker is good for basic stuff and it's usually already on Windows computers.
Do you already have a program you use or have a preference on what you want to use?

What, Sony Vegas? All it takes is some practice and getting used to.


But it still takes it's time.
That time, for a person who knows 0 about editing, is gonna be a long time.
That just kills motivation.

If you want a free one, use windows movie maker or iMovie, but the really good ones are exspensive.

Sony Vegas has a lot of good things said about it. Movie Maker and/or iMovie might do for now until you can afford to buy Vegas (unless you pirate), but don't rely on it forever.
