activision sold 20 million toys in 2011, and 80 million in 2012. then they sold 75 million in 2013, and 65 million in 2014.

so it looks like skylanders have sold pretty good over the years smilie

It'd be great to deep-dive more on this. Does a starter pack count as three toys (four with Trap Team)? Do Traps count as toys? Is an Adventure pack four toys or one? A three-pack three toys or one? Trap 8 pack eight toys or one?

So many questions.

Good.

This proves my point they've made enough money so manufacturing shouldn't be a problem and there's no excuse for limited amounts or discontinued figures and/or accessories for Trap Team.

Interesting that they dropped 10m in sales this year, shows that competition for money is heating up with Disney Infinity and Amiibo. I expect the number will drop further next year.

it would be really interesting to see what the sales of 2015 will be, maybe another 10mill in less sales or more... there have been a lot of complains over this year stt game.

I also wonder how much Swap Force's figures played a part in that success. I personally think they're the best figures from a child's perspective because they open up more avenues for physical play.

In order to be able to tell, you'd have to know the sales figures of Swap Force versus Trap Team and, to a lesser extent, Giants and Spyro's Adventure, since all of those different figures were at retail at the same time. It doesn't bode well that the single drop in sales numbers comes during the year where Swap Force came into its own, but it's possible that it did as well as any of the other games and it was Trap Team that came up short. No way to know, unfortunately.

Totally agreed about Swap Force. These figures would be fun for a young child without the game at all!

Not to forget that TT's new items are the traps that sell for less than the normal characters, so that could be one of the reasons the sales are down.
And since TRU (and others) has been consistent in having sales, a lot of us wait instead of paying full price.

The fact Australia hasn't received any wave 2 or 3 cores won't help their sales either
